  • Falcons' Bralen Trice: NFL debut still on hold

Trice (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Trice is now in line to miss all of Atlanta's 2025 campaign due to a knee injury originally sustained in the 2024 preseason. The 2024 third-round pick from Washington has still yet to make his NFL debut. While he remains sidelined for the remainder of the season, expect Jalon Walker, James Pearce and Leonard Floyd to handle the Falcons' top pass-rush duties.

  • Falcons' Bralen Trice: Starting 2025 on IR

The Falcons placed Trice (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports. Head coach Raheem Morris told reporters Thursday that Trice aggravated the same knee that kept him sidelined for the entire 2024 season. While there's hope that Trice can return after the Week 5 bye, Morris noted that a procedure on the knee might be needed, and that decision will be discussed over the coming days, per McElhaney.

  • Falcons' Bralen Trice: Fully recovered from ACL injury

Trice (knee) has been an active participant in training camp practices, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports. Trice missed the entire 2024 season after tearing his ACL in the preseason. He did not participate in OTAs or minicamp, but he has made strong strides in his recovery over the past year and has been present in every single training camp practice thus far. The 2024 third-rounder will likely serve in a depth role at outside linebacker but could earn more snaps with a strong preseason, starting with the Falcons' opener against the Lions on Aug. 8.

  • Falcons' Bralen Trice: Progressing in ACL recovery

Coach Raheem Morris said Tuesday that it is a "realistic goal" for Trice (knee) to participate fully at training camp in July, Daniel Flick of SI.com reports. Trice suffered an ACL tear during Atlanta's 2024 preseason opener back in August, and it's encouraging that he's active at OTAs, albeit not at full capacity. Once he's back in the mix, the 2024 third-round pick could have trouble winning significant snaps in a Falcons pass rush that added Jalon Walker and James Pearce in the first round of the 2025 Draft after signing Leonard Floyd in free agency.

  • Falcons' Bralen Trice: Tears ACL in preseason opener

Head coach Raheem Morris confirmed Monday that Trice tore his ACL in Friday's preseason loss to the Dolphins, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports. Trice sustained the injury in the second quarter of Friday's game, and he was placed on the reserve/injured list Sunday. The rookie third-round pick out of Washington was set to play a key role in the Falcons' defense alongside starting outside linebackers Arnold Ebiketie and Lorenzo Carter. Trice will now turn his attention to rehabbing and recovering from his torn ACL and come back fully healthy for 2025.

  • Falcons' Bralen Trice: Atlanta selects in round three

The Falcons selected Trice in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 74th overall. Trice evidently played at over 270 pounds for Washington, where he was the team's leading pass rusher the last two years, but he slimmed down to just 245 before the combine, presumably with the hopes of running faster. To run just a 4.72-second 40 at that weight is a pretty big disappointment, as it raises the concern that Trice would run something more like a 4.9-second 40 at his real playing weight. Trice seems skilled as an edge rusher and certainly has the motor, but his tools grade is not that of a starter and puts a lot of pressure on his technique development.
