  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Leads team with 6.5 sacks

Hunt finished his second NFL season with a team-leading 6.5 sacks as well as 52 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. It was a productive year for the 2024 third-round pick, who played a limited role as a rookie. He even found the end zone for the first time, picking off former Eagle Carson Wentz in Week 7 and returning it 42 yards for a touchdown. While he was only nominally the starter in nine games, he played the seventh-most snaps among all Eagles defenders, and he should remain a key playmaker for the Philadelphia defense next season.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Sacks Allen twice in Week 17 win

Hunt logged seven tackles (two solo), including 2.0 sacks, during the Eagles' 13-12 win over the Bills on Sunday. Hunt finished Sunday's game tied for the third-most tackles on the Eagles and was responsible for two of the team's five sacks on Josh Allen, including a 19-yard takedown early in the fourth quarter that took the Bills out of field-goal range. It was the second time this season that Hunt logged at least 2.0 sacks in a game, and the second-year linebacker is up to 50 tackles (26 solo), including 6.5 sacks, two interceptions (including a pick-six) and two forced fumbles through 16 regular-season games.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Nabs interception in Week 13 loss

Hunt recorded three tackles and an interception in Friday's loss to the Bears. Hunt also notched two QB hits Friday. His pickoff came midway through the third period and set up Philadelphia in Chicago territory, but the ensuing drive ended when Jalen Hurts lost a fumble. Hunt has two interceptions on the season -- his other one was a pick-six in Week 7 against Minnesota.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Quiet outing in win

Hunt recorded one solo tackle in Philadelphia's win over the Lions on Sunday. Hunt was unable to replicate his level of production from a week ago, when he recorded five solo tackles in the team's win over Green Bay. The 2024 third-round pick will look to have a bounce-back performance during the team's Week 12 matchup versus the Cowboys.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Sacks Love in victory

Hunt posted five tackles (all solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Monday's 10-7 win over Green Bay. Hunt made a big play early, sacking Jordan Love for an 11-yard loss on the Packers' first series after Green Bay had entered Eagles territory. That drive ultimately ended in a punt, setting the tone for a game-long defensive battle. Hunt has notched a sack in two straight games around Philadelphia's Week 9 bye. Prior to the two-game stretch, he hadn't recorded a sack in any of his first seven contests.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Limited in practice

Hunt (hip) was a limited participant in Philadelphia's practice Wednesday. Hunt popped up on the injury report after having racked up three tackles (one solo) during the team's Week 1 win over the Cowboys. While it's currently unclear how Hunt picked up the injury, he will look to be good to go for Sunday's matchup versus the Chiefs.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Getting hype from teammates

Multiple teammates have commented on Hunt's progress this summer, including fellow pass rusher Nolan Smith saying Thursday that Hunt is "gonna be the best thing since sliced bread," Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports. Eagles LT Jordan Mailata said Wednesday that Hunt is "going to be special" and "has tendencies like Micah [Parsons]," per Zach Berman of The Athletic. A third-round pick in 2024, Hunt played just 17 defensive snaps through Week 9 of his rookie season before earning a larger role and eventually making an impact in the playoffs with 1.5 sacks (on 103 snaps) in four games. The Eagles seem confident he can replace Josh Sweat, who signed with Arizona this offseason after recording six or more sacks for Philadelphia each of the past five years.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Solid production in rookie season

Hunt finished the 2024 season with 21 total tackles (12 solo), including 1.5 sacks, while also adding one pass defensed and two forced fumbles over 16 regular-season games. Hunt operated as a depth option in his rookie season behind Nolan Smith at weakside linebacker, but he still had a rather productive year. With fellow linebacker Brandon Graham potentially set to retire and another linebacker in Josh Sweat entering the offseason as a free agent, Hunt could be set to see a significant increase in workload next season.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Back at practice Sunday

Hunt (oblique) returned to practice Sunday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Hunt missed Thursday's practice due to an oblique injury, but the issue appears to have been minor, as he's back on the field three days later. Tuesday's initial injury report for the week should shed more light on whether Hunt is at any risk of missing the Eagles' Week 1 game against Green Bay in Brazil on Friday.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Dealing with oblique injury

Hunt did not participate in Thursday's practice due to an oblique injury, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Hunt played in the first two preseason games, during which he accrued seven tackles (five solo). The rookie third-round pick is slated to provide linebacker depth behind starters Josh Sweat and Bryce Huff. It's not yet known if the severity of the injury has Hunt in jeopardy of missing the Eagles' regular-season opener against the Packers on Sept. 6.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Philly adds third-round pass rusher

The Eagles selected Hunt in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 94th overall. Hunt (6-foot-4, 252 pounds) was a non-entity as a recruit and had to take a strange path from Cornell (where he arrived as a defensive back) to Houston Christian, and he wasn't especially productive there given the low level of competition. The reason the Eagles gambled on Hunt anyway is that his rawness might be explained by his inexperience, and he otherwise has excellent athletic tools to work with (4.64-second 40-yard dash, 37.5-inch vertical, 128-inch broad jump). Hunt is now in a race against time to build up his skill set before his developmental window closes.
