    The Lions waived McLaughlin on Wednesday. McLaughlin was diagnosed with a concussion last Saturday. The center was not waived with an injury designation, meaning he has recovered quickly from the head injury. The 2025 undrafted free agent out of Ohio State will now be subject to waivers, and if he clears, he will become a free agent able to sign with any organization.

  • Lions' Seth McLaughlin: Enters concussion protocol

    McLaughlin has been diagnosed with a concussion and is in the league's five-step protocol, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports. McLaughlin suffered a concussion during Saturday's preseason finale against the Colts. The backup center will need to be regularly checked by an independent neurologist to progress through the protocol and return to full contact practices.

  • Bengals' Seth McLaughlin: Cleared to play

    McLaughlin (undisclosed) was activated off the active/non-football injury list Wednesday. McLaughlin signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in late April. The 23-year-old was cleared to participate in practice after missing the start of training camp and will likely be fighting for a roster spot with the start of the regular season just over a month away.
