The Chiefs waived Smith (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports. Smith was set to miss the entire 2026 season after reverting to the Chiefs' injured reserve Monday. With the settlement, the Stanford product is now eligible to sign and play with a team once he has fully recovered from his undisclosed injury.

Smith (undisclosed) reverted to the Chiefs' injured reserve list Monday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Smith was waived with an injury designation Sunday. The running back cleared waivers and will now spend the entirety of the 2026 regular season on injured reserve unless he is waived with an injury settlement.
