  • Browns' Elijah Moore: Two catches in Week 16 loss

Moore secured two of five targets for 21 yards in the Browns' 24-6 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson's ascension to the starting quarterback job didn't really do any Browns pass catchers any favors with the exception of David Njoku, as is evident in Moore's pedestrian receiving line. The fourth-year pro actually outpaced Jerry Jeudy, who'd been on a torrid pace with Jameis Winston (shoulder) under center, by two targets and one receiving yard Sunday, but that didn't amount to any tangible fantasy value. Moore could be headed to even more unremarkable numbers in Week 17 when the Dolphins come to town, due both to Miami's talented secondary and the fact Cedric Tillman (concussion) may be ready to return to action.

  • Browns' Jerry Jeudy: Pair of catches with DTR at QB

Jeudy brought in two of three targets for 20 yards in the Browns' 24-6 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

Working with Dorian Thompson-Robinson as his quarterback instead of Jameis Winston (shoulder), Jeudy saw significant regression in his numbers Sunday. The speedy wideout didn't enjoy anything resembling the downfield role he often filled with the freewheeling Winston at the controls, as Thompson-Robinson averaged just 4.6 yards per attempt while also throwing a pair of interceptions and taking five sacks. Jeudy could be hard-pressed to see much improvement in Week 17, as the talented Dolphins secondary comes to town.

  • Browns' David Njoku: Paces pass catchers in return

Njoku secured eight of 10 targets for 66 yards in the Browns' 24-6 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

Making his return from a Week 15 absence due to a hamstring injury, Njoku led all Browns pass catchers in receptions, receiving yards and targets. The veteran tight end unsurprisingly was a trusted option for second-year signal-caller Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and he's now posted at least seven catches in four of the last five games heading into a Week 17 home matchup against the Dolphins.

  • Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Pair of picks in starting debut

Thompson-Robinson completed 20 of 34 passes for 157 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions while adding nine carries for 49 yards in the Browns' 24-6 loss to the Bengals on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.

Thompson-Robinson and the Browns' offense as a whole got a big boost on the first play from scrimmage when Jerome Ford ripped off a 66-yard run up the gut of the Bengals' defense. However, in a sign of what type of day it would be for Cleveland, D'Onta Foreman subsequently fumbled at the goal line on that possession and Thompson-Robinson could only help his team to 10 net offensive yards the rest of the first half. The second-year signal-caller then short-circuited consecutive third-quarter drives with interceptions, the first of which came in the end zone. Thompson-Robinson did make plenty of positive plays with his legs and displayed decent command of the offense by connecting with six different targets, but he'll need to eliminate the mistakes to give his team a better chance in a Week 17 home matchup against the Dolphins, a game that head coach Kevin Stefanski committed to having Thompson-Robinson start, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic, provided the minor calf issue the young quarterback suffered on the game's opening drive doesn't prevent him from doing so.

  • Browns' Bailey Zappe: Backup QB for Week 16

Zappe will serve as the Browns' backup quarterback against the Bengals on Sunday.

Jameis Winston is serving as the Browns' emergency third-string quarterback Sunday due to a right shoulder injury, which leaves Zappe as Cleveland's QB2 behind Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Zappe appeared in 10 regular-season games for the Patriots in 2023, completing 59.9 percent of his passes for 1,272 yards, six touchdowns and nine interceptions while adding 17 carries for 83 yards and one touchdown. Zappe could revert to the emergency quarterback for Week 17 against the Dolphins on Sunday, Dec. 29 if Winston is healthy.

  • Browns' Martin Emerson: Good to go against Bengals

Emerson (concussion/back) is active for Sunday's game against Cincinnati.

Emerson entered concussion protocols following the Browns' Week 15 loss to the Chiefs, and he was also limited in practice this past week due to a back injury. He's managed to clear the league's five-step concussion protocols and has overcome his back issue, and he will suit up in Sunday's AFC North clash. Emerson has registered 23 tackles (19 solo) in the Bengals' five games since the Week 10 bye.

  • Browns' David Njoku: Ready to go Sunday

Njoku (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

The hamstring injury prevented Njoku from playing in last week's loss to the Chiefs, but he received the green light to play Sunday after returning to practice as a limited participant following a pair of absences to begin the week. Because he wasn't a full participant in practice at any point this week, Njoku's snaps could be managed to some degree Sunday. Even if Njoku faces no restrictions with his workload, his fantasy projection will likely take a hit with Dorian Thompson-Robinson taking over as the team's starting quarterback in place of Jameis Winston (shoulder).

  • Browns' Jameis Winston: Inactive as third QB

Winston (shoulder) is inactive as the Browns' emergency No. 3 quarterback for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski announced Wednesday that Winston's seven-game run atop the depth chart would come to an end, with Dorian Thompson-Robinson replacing Winston as the team's starting quarterback. Winston then proceeded to open the week as a full practice participant, but the right shoulder injury resulted in him being a limited participant Thursday and Friday. Though the injury doesn't appear to be too significant, the Browns won't ask Winston to push through the issue while the team already had another quarterback (Bailey Zappe) on its active roster. Zappe will serve as Thompson-Robinson's top backup Sunday, but Winston could move into the No. 2 role next week if his shoulder shows improvement.
