  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Slings helper in loss

Trenin provided an assist, four hits and two PIM in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Avalanche. Trenin helped out on Zach Bogosian's tally late in the first period. With four points over eight games since he returned from an upper-body injury, Trenin is in one of his best stretches of the season, but that's not saying much for his offense. He has just seven points with 33 shots on net, 18 PIM, a plus-6 rating and 109 hits over 37 outings overall.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Capitalizes on mistake in win

Trenin netted a shorthanded goal on three shots and added three hits, one blocked shot and one takeaway in 12:58 of ice time in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over Washington. Trenin gave his club a 2-1 lead late in the opening stanza after Charlie Lindgren turned the puck over behind the net. Trenin had just one point across the first two months of the season, but he's been more productive of late with three goals and two helpers over his last 10 games. The Russian forward is known more for his physical style of play -- he's dishing out just under three hits per game in 2024-25. Through 34 appearances, Trenin has contributed three goals, three assists, 16 PIM, 30 shots on goal, 100 hits, 18 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Contributes two helpers in return

Trenin notched two assists, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 4-3 win over the Blackhawks. Trenin missed five games due to an upper-body injury. He had done little on offense prior to the injury, though he scored twice in the four games before his absence. For the season, the physical forward has five points, 23 shots on net, 84 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-6 rating through 30 contests. Trenin is likely to fill a bottom-six role going forward, and his limited scoring upside will preclude him from being a factor in most fantasy formats.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Removed from IR

Trenin (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Monday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Trenin should return to the lineup against Chicago on Monday after missing the last five games. He has accounted for two goals, one assist, 22 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and 82 hits across 29 appearances this season. The Wild made room for Trenin to occupy a bottom-six role by sending Travis Boyd to AHL Iowa on Sunday.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Progressing in recovery

Trenin (upper body) has been participating in team skates recently and is making progress in his recovery, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports Friday. Trenin has missed three consecutive games due to an upper-body injury, and he was placed on injured reserve Thursday. While he'll be sidelined Friday against Utah and will likely be unavailable for Saturday's game against Winnipeg, it seems as though he's closer to day-to-day than week-to-week. However, it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return before the NHL's Christmas break.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Lands on injured reserve

Trenin (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday. Trenin has missed the last three games due to his upper-body injury, and it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to action. Prior to his absence, he logged two goals, an assist, 82 hits, 15 blocked shots and 14 PIM while averaging 13:37 of ice time over 29 appearances this season. Devin Shore was also sent to AHL Iowa on Thursday, so it's not yet clear who will occupy a fourth-line role for the Wild during the team's back-to-back set that includes games against Utah on Friday and against Winnipeg on Saturday.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Unavailable Wednesday

Trenin (upper body) won't play Wednesday versus Florida, per Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. It will be Minnesota's third straight game without Trenin. He has two goals, three points, 14 PIM and 82 hits in 27 appearances in 2024-25. Brendan Gaunce, who was recalled from AHL Iowa on Monday, is set to make his Minnesota debut.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Questionable Wednesday

Trenin (upper body) remains a doubt ahead of Wednesday's matchup with Florida, Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Trenin was working in a non-contact jersey Tuesday, but head coach John Hynes wasn't willing to rule him out for Wednesday's contest. If Trenin can't play, the Wild will have to either deploy seven defensemen or keep Devin Shore up in the NHL for a little longer -- assuming he clears waivers Tuesday.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Unavailable Saturday

Trenin will miss Saturday's tilt against Philadelphia because of an upper-body injury. Trenin has two goals, three points, 14 PIM and 82 hits in 29 appearances in 2024-25. Reese Johnson is drawing into the lineup due to Trenin's injury.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Scores late to prevent shutout

Trenin scored a goal and added two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Kings. Trenin couldn't buy a goal over the first two months of the season, but he's now scored in back-to-back games. His tally Saturday had no impact other than breaking up Darcy Kuemper's shutout bid with 1:13 to go in the contest. Trenin is at three points, 19 shots on net, 73 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 27 appearances, and his limited offense in a bottom-six role shouldn't intrigue many fantasy managers.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Deposits empty-netter

Trenin scored a shorthanded empty-net goal and added three hits in Friday's 5-1 win over the Ducks. The goal was Trenin's first of the season, and it was his first point since Oct. 19 versus the Blue Jackets. The 27-year-old has stayed in the lineup amid his lengthy slump, playing in a bottom-six role. In addition to his two points, Trenin has produced 71 hits, 14 PIM, 18 shots on net and a plus-6 rating over 26 appearances. He's not a notable depth scorer, so he has very limited fantasy value.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: Cold on offense

Trenin's point drought reached 16 games in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Jets. During the scoring slump, he has 10 shots on net and 49 hits. The 27-year-old is best known for his physical play, but he's also contributed at least 17 points over each of the last three seasons. In 2024-25, he's at one assist, 14 shots, 62 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 21 outings in a bottom-six role. Trenin's a non-factor in fantasy until he shows something more on offense.

  • Wild's Yakov Trenin: On the ice at camp

Trenin (upper body) is skating at the Wild's camp, but he won't play in the preseason opener versus the Jets on Saturday. Signed to a four-year deal in July, Trenin does not appear to have any lingering concerns from the upper-body injury that kept him out of the Avalanche's last playoff contest. He'll compete for a bottom-six role with the Wild, though his contract assures he'll be in the lineup most of the time. Between Colorado and Nashville last year, Trenin produced 12 goals, five assists, 40 PIM, 116 shots on goal and 207 hits in 76 regular-season contests.

  • Avalanche's Yakov Trenin: Won't play Friday

Trenin (upper body) will not be in the lineup for Game 6 versus Dallas on Friday. Coach Jared Bednar told reporters, "He won't be available tonight. He's on the shelf for tonight's game. Still classify him as day-to-day," per Kyle Fredrickson of The Denver Gazette. Trenin has produced just one point in 10 postseason contests, so his absence from the lineup is unlikely to have a significant impact on fantasy players. Without Trenin in the lineup, the Avs will likely turn to Chris Wagner to fill a fourth-line center role, though Fredrik Olofsson could also be in the mix.

  • Avalanche's Yakov Trenin: Dealing with upper-body injury

Trenin is being evaluated for an upper-body injury after exiting Wednesday's Game 5 versus the Stars in the first period, Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now reports. Trenin exited midway through the first period, and it appears unlikely he'll be able to return to the game. If the Avalanche lose Wednesday, the injury will end his season, though it's unclear if he'll be available for Friday's Game 6 should the Avalanche win.

  • Avalanche's Yakov Trenin: Pots goal in win

Trenin scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Jets in Game 5. The second-period goal was Trenin's first point in five playoff outings. The 27-year-old has added 21 hits, six shots on net and a plus-2 rating. He had 17 points, 116 shots on net, 207 hits and 40 PIM over 76 regular-season outings between the Avalanche and the Predators, though he's mainly been in a bottom-six role since he was traded to Colorado.

  • Avalanche's Yakov Trenin: Scores first as Av

Trenin scored a goal on his lone shot in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win against Pittsburgh. Trenin earned his first goal and point in an Avalanche jersey, closing the gap to 4-2. With Colorado buzzing and having just hit the crossbar, Brandon Duhaime's shot caromed of Trenin and under the arm of Alex Nedeljkovic. That tally, late in the second period, spurred a frantic third period in which the Avs scored twice then went on to win in overtime. Trenin, who was acquired from Nashville at the trade deadline, is skating on the fourth line and averaging two fewer minutes of ice time per game in Colorado.

  • Avalanche's Yakov Trenin: Moved to fourth line

Trenin had one shot and five hits in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over Edmonton. Trenin was dropped from the third to fourth line, as Zach Parise returned from a lower-body injury. The fourth line was responsible for 12 of Colorado's 33 hits, and Trenin has 13 body checks over four games since being traded from Nashville. Overall, the 27-year-old is tied for 19th in the NHL with 184 hits.

  • Avalanche's Yakov Trenin: On third line for now

Trenin had one shot on net, two blocks and two hits over 15:22 of ice time in Tuesday's 6-2 win over Calgary. Trenin played his second game for Colorado since being acquired from Nashville last week. He saw ice time as a winger on the third line, took some faceoff draws and was used on the penalty-kill unit. The Avalanche need someone to replace Logan O'Connor (hip) on the third line, but it may not be Trenin long term. Once Zach Parise (lower body) is ready, he figures to skate there, and Trenin could drop to fourth-line center when additional injured players return. He's recorded six hits in his first two games with Colorado and could provide the physical edge the team lost when it traded Kurtis MacDermid to New Jersey.

  • Avalanche's Yakov Trenin: Acquired by Avalanche

Trenin was traded along with Graham Sward to Colorado from Nashville on Thursday in exchange for Jeremy Hanzel and a 2025 third-round selection. Trenin has 10 goals, 14 points, 38 PIM and 171 hits in 60 contests with the Predators in 2023-24. He's averaged 15:04 of ice time this season, but that workload might decline with the Avalanche. Trenin is likely to serve almost exclusively in a bottom-six capacity for Colorado.
