Petrov didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Oilers, and he'll become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday.
Petrov has played for AHL Bakersfield across the past three seasons, most recently recording five goals, seven assists and four PIM across 38 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. He hasn't yet made his NHL debut and will seek out other opportunities ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
