  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Provides two helpers Saturday

Michkov recorded two assists and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Sabres. Michkov assisted on second-period goals by Egor Zamula and Travis Konecny. The 19-year-old has recorded at least one point in each of his last four games, notching two goals and four assists in that span. The four-game streak represents a season-high mark for Michkov, who still lacks consistency on a game-to-game basis but looks like a player worth rostering in all formats and one of the top fantasy assets in dynasty leagues. He's up to 15 points in 16 games as a rookie.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Completes comeback in overtime

Michkov scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Senators. Michkov continues to respond well from his recent two-game stint as a healthy scratch. He had two points in his return to the lineup Monday before tallying the game-winning goal in Thursday's comeback win. The 19-year-old rookie is making a positive impact on offense with six goals, seven assists, 28 shots on net, 12 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 15 appearances. He's earned eight of his points on the power play. Michkov will still be accountable for playing a strong overall game, as head coach John Tortorella has sent a message with his recent scratches and could do so again if Michkov's defensive play lapses.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Plays hero in return to lineup

Michkov scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Sharks. After getting parked in the press box by coach John Tortorella the last two games, Michkov returned to the lineup and made an immediate impact. The rookie winger set up Travis Konecny for a tally in the first period then scored on a breakaway early in the second to give the Flyers a 3-0 lead. When that didn't prove to be enough, Michkov beat Vitek Vanecek again for the first successful attempt in the shootout. Michkov was also a plus-2 on the night, and it's his defensive-zone work that Tortorella wants the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft to focus on. There have been no complaints about Michkov's offense -- through his first 14 NHL games, he's produced five goals and 12 points, with eight of them (three goals, five helpers) coming on the power play.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Healthy scratch Thursday

Michkov will be a healthy scratch for Thursday's game against the Lightning. Michkov appeared in each of the Flyers' first 13 games of the season and logged four goals, 10 points, six blocked shots and two hits while averaging 17:50 of ice time. However, he's cooled off recently, tallying just one assist over his last five outings. Head coach John Tortorella has benched some prominent players -- especially rookies -- in the past in order to send a message, and Michkov will get a night off Thursday. Anthony Richard will draw into the lineup against Tampa Bay, while Michkov's next opportunity to suit up will be Saturday against the Panthers.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Generates assist in loss

Michkov posted an assist in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Hurricanes. Michkov's helper ended a four-game slump for the talented rookie. There will be ups and downs as there are with any young player, but Michkov's ice time has also dropped recently. He's had a couple of benchings by head coach John Tortorella, Madeline Campbell of Broad Street Hockey reports, and that could continue as Tortorella works to iron out the flaws in Michkov's play. Tortorella has indicated he wouldn't hesitate to scratch Michkov, as he has done with other young players throughout his various stops in the NHL. Michkov has 10 points, 23 shots on net and a minus-8 rating over his first 13 appearances, but fantasy managers should be prepared for some attrition when rostering the rookie, who is playing on a last-place team.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: One of each on power play

Michkov scored a goal on three shots, dished an assist, added two PIM and went minus-3 in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Capitals. Michkov was at the center of the Flyers' comeback effort, but it fell just short. The 19-year-old winger continues to be dynamic with the man advantage -- he has earned six of his seven points on the power play so far. He's at three goals, four assists, 14 shots on net, six PIM and a minus-9 rating through seven appearances, though he continues to play in a top-line role.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Finds assist in loss

Michkov recorded an assist in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Capitals. The helper was Michkov's first career even-strength point. He has five points, 11 shots on net and a minus-6 rating through six appearances. While he's maintained a top-line role so far and is hardly the only one to blame for the Flyers' struggles, if his offense dips, he could find himself seeing a smaller role for a bit.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Grabs power-play helper

Michkov registered a power-play assist, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Kraken. It was a mixed bag for Michkov, who is still searching for the first even-strength point of his career. He has earned four power-play points (two goals, two assists) over four appearances while adding 10 shots on net, four blocked shots, four PIM and a minus-5 rating. The 19-year-old winger will need to avoid senseless penalties, as taking too many of those is the quickest way for a young player to ride pine for head coach John Tortorella.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Scores twice on power play

Michkov scored two power-play goals on five shots and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers. Michkov gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead midway through the first period. His first goal came from in close, while his second was at a tight angle. The 19-year-old rookie has three points, nine shots on net, four blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through his first three NHL contests. Michkov has bundles of upside while playing in a top-line role and on the first power-play unit.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Productive in preseason action

Michkov recorded three goals and four assists over four preseason appearances this year, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Hall reports that Michkov won't play in Thursday's preseason finale against New Jersey, so the No. 7 pick from the 2023 Draft will now shift his focus toward making his NHL debut on Opening Night against Vancouver on Oct. 11. Ahead of Thursday's action, Michkov's seven points during preseason play are tied with Samuel Honzek for most in the NHL during exhibition play. Michkov made 47 appearances for HC Sochi of the KHL last year and logged 19 goals and 41 points.

Michkov signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Philadelphia on Monday. Michkov was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. He produced 19 goals and 41 points in 47 games for HC Sochi of the KHL after being loaned from SKA St. Petersburg. The talented prospect could begin the 2024-25 campaign in the Flyer's top-six forward group.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Expected to join Flyers

Michkov will be granted his release from SKA St. Petersburg on Monday and will join the Flyers ahead of training camp, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports. Michkov was the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft and is one of the most talented prospects in the league. He totaled 19 goals and 41 points in 48 KHL games last season and didn't turn 19 years old until December. The 5-foot-10 winger will likely make the Flyers' roster to begin the 2024-25 campaign and could immediately slot into a top-six role.
