Sabres' Andrew Oglevie: On non-roster list Tuesday

Oglevie (undisclosed) was designated as non-roster Tuesday, per CapFriendly.
It's unclear what's sidelined Oglevie, but he'll begin the year on the non-roster list. The 26-year-old has yet to make his NHL debut, and he'll likely return to AHL Rochester once he's activated.
Oglevie was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Wednesday.
With the Sabres finally getting players back from the NHL's COVID-19 protocols, Oglevie's services are no longer needed up with the big club. Still, it likely won't be the last time the 26-year-old center is shuffled between levels, though the bulk of his games figure to be played with the Americans.

Oglevie has spent the last three seasons with AHL Rochester and likely won't see any time on the active roster. Once the full Sabres' roster is off the COVID-19 protocol list, the California native should head back to the minors.

Oglevie spent the 2019-20 campaign in the minors. picking up 15 goals and 29 points in 55 games. The 25-year-old forward will likely stick with AHL Rochester for the entirety of the 2020-21 season as well.

Oglevie gathered a rebound for his second goal of the preseason Friday, but the Sabres lost to the Maple Leafs on the road, 5-3.
Make that two preseason goals for Oglevie so far in the preseason. The California native spent the past three seasons with Notre Dame, adding 41 goals, 48 assists and a cumulative plus-33 rating over that span. Buffalo is stocked well at the center position, but Oglevie is making a case to at least be a call-up candidate this season after inking a three-year, entry-level contract with the Swords in April.
