Top Predators News

  • Predators' Yegor Surin: Reaches 30-point mark

Surin scored a goal in Lokomotiv Yaroslavl's 3-1 win over Lada Togliatti on Friday in the KHL.

Surin has 15 goals and 30 points over 43 outings for Lokomotiv this season. He was limited to 14 points in 41 regular-season games in 2024-25. Surin also has a plus-25 rating and 109 shots on net while averaging 15:05 of ice time. The Nashville prospect is still likely over a year away from coming to North America, so he'll have time to continue growing his game.

  • Predators' Michael McCarron: Finds twine in loss

McCarron scored a goal, blocked four shots and recorded three hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to New Jersey.

McCarron logged the opening goal just over five minutes into Thursday's contest. On the season, he is up to three goals, 10 points, 73 shots on net, 148 hits and 53 blocked shots across 52 outings. While his offensive output has taken the back seat to his defensive responsibilities for the Predators, two of his goals have been in the last seven games. McCarron is best deployed in deeper fantasy formats for rosters that lack high-end totals for hits and blocks across category-based leagues.

  • Predators' Filip Forsberg: Reaches 20-goal mark

Forsberg tallied a goal and fired four shots on net in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to New Jersey.

Forsberg lit the lamp just over 90 seconds into Thursday's third period to give the Predators a 2-1 lead. With the twine finder, he is up to 20 goals, 41 points, 160 shots on net and 100 hits across 53 games this season. After a cold stretch of offense to begin the calendar year, the 31-year-old winger has bounced back with four goals and nine points over his last seven games. While his point total this season might not make a splash, such as the 94-point campaign he posted in 82 regular-season games in 2023-24, Forsberg still has a remote chance to reach the 70-point threshold for the third straight year. With a steady serving of shots on net and hits, he remains an elite fantasy option in category-based leagues.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Yields three goals in loss

Annunen turned aside 32 of 35 shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to New Jersey.

Annunen was tasked with recording a high total of saves in regulation to force overtime, in which he ultimately fell short when New Jersey's Nico Hischier rifled the game-winning tally past him 42 seconds into the extra period. With the loss, Annunen now holds a 4-6-2 record, 3.30 GAA and .881 save percentage across 16 outings this season. While the 25-year-old netminder hasn't found the win column in each of his last three outings, he has only one regulation loss across his last six appearances, a stretch during which he has a 2.69 GAA and a .909 save percentage. He remains firmly behind Juuse Saros on the depth chart, but with solid performances such as Thursday's, Annunen could begin to draw more starts if the Predators start slipping out of playoff contention.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Drawing start Thursday

Annunen will defend the road crease against New Jersey on Thursday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.

Annunen has seen limited playing time in recent weeks, but he'll tend the twine Thursday after sitting out the Predators' last three games. He's made three appearances in January, going 1-1-0 with a 3.51 GAA and .889 save percentage.

  • Predators' Fedor Svechkov: Sent to Milwaukee

Svechkov (upper body) was reassigned to AHL Milwaukee on Thursday.

Svechkov has had a tough go of things this season with two goals and seven assists in 49 appearances. He has been in a terrible slump of late, scoring once in his last 20 games. Svechkov was injured Tuesday, but he is likely to return to action this weekend for the Admirals. Look for Tyson Jost to enter the lineup Thursday in New Jersey, replacing Svechkov.

  • Predators' Adam Wilsby: First point since return

Wilsby logged an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Bruins.

Wilsby's helper was his first point in two games since he returned from missing four contests due to a lower-body injury. The 25-year-old should be a regular in the Predators' lineup moving forward. He's at eight points, 37 shots on net, 31 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 38 appearances, offering little upside for fantasy managers.

  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Forces overtime Tuesday

Blankenburg scored a goal in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Bruins.

Blankenburg picked up his fourth point in the last 11 games when he tied the score at 2-2 in the third period. The 27-year-old was limited to 12:41 of ice time since the Predators dressed seven blueliners for this contest. Blankenburg shouldn't have trouble staying in the lineup while Nicolas Hague (lower body) is out on a week-to-week basis. For the season, Blankenburg has six goals and 21 points, both of which are career highs. He's added 52 shots on net, 39 hits, 44 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating over 42 outings.

  • Predators' Roman Josi: Nets power-play tally

Josi scored a power-play goal on two shots and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Bruins.

Josi continues to surge on offense with four goals and nine assists over his last eight games. He's gotten on the scoresheet in seven of those contests. The 35-year-old blueliner is up to nine goals, 31 points, 107 shots on net, 61 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a minus-10 rating through 40 appearances this season.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Bounced by Bruins in OT

Saros made 25 saves in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to Boston.

The Predators never led in the game, rallying from a 2-0 deficit late in the second period to force overtime, and Saros had little chance on David Pastrnak's winner just 15 seconds into the extra frame. The veteran netminder has given up at least three goals in six straight outings, posting a shaky 3.69 GAA and .887 save percentage over that stretch while coming away with a 3-2-1 record.

  • Predators' Jordan Oesterle: Posts trio of points in AHL win

Oesterle scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Milwaukee's 5-3 win over Rockford on Tuesday.

Oesterle hasn't gotten a look with the Predators this season. He's earned five points over the last three games, but Andreas Englund got the call-up over Oesterle after it was determined Nicolas Hague (lower body) was set for a week-to-week absence through the Olympic break. Oesterle is at 21 points with a minus-13 rating over 39 AHL contests this season.

  • Predators' Reid Schaefer: Racks up three points in AHL win

Schaefer scored two goals and added an assist in AHL Milwaukee's 5-3 win over Rockford on Tuesday.

Schaefer had gone scoreless in his first three games back in the AHL after getting demoted from the Predators. He broke out in a big way in this contest. Schaefer is up to six goals, 17 points, 50 shots on net and 37 PIM through 19 appearances for the Admirals this season.

  • Predators' Fedor Svechkov: Gets hurt Tuesday

Svechkov (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Bruins.

Svechkov was injured in the first period and didn't come out for the middle frame. The forward can be considered day-to-day until more information is available. If he misses time, Tyson Jost will likely draw in as the fourth-line center.

... See More ... See Less
  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Guarding goal Tuesday

Saros will protect the road goal versus the Bruins on Tuesday.

Saros has won three of his last five games, but he's allowed at least three goals in each of those contests. That could make this matchup challenging. The Bruins' offense has been humming with 22 goals over their last six games, going 4-1-1 in that span.

  • Predators' Andreas Englund: Elevated from minors

Englund was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Monday.

Nicolas Hague is week-to-week due to a lower-body injury, which has resulted in Englund being brought up from the minors. Englund has yet to make an appearance in the NHL in 2025-26, so he might not get into a game unless another Nashville blueliner gets hurt. The 30-year-old has two goals, six points, 44 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 34 appearances with the Admirals this season.
