Predators' Juuse Saros: On wrong side of shutout
Saros stopped 31 of 32 shots in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Flames. The second goal was an empty-netter.
Saros was sharp, but a goal from Daniil Miromanov at 6:38 of the third period ended up deciding the game. This was Saros' sixth loss in his last eight outings, though he played well. He's now 4-8-2 with a 2.52 GAA and a .915 save percentage through 14 starts this season. The Finn has had some missteps, but he's still suffering from a lack of consistent goal support from his teammates. The Predators continue their road trip Sunday in Vancouver.

Predators' Thomas Novak: Out again Friday
Novak (upper body) won't play Friday versus the Flames, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Novak will be out of the lineup for the sixth games in a row. The 27-year-old center's next chance to play is Sunday versus the Canucks, though it's unclear if he'll be ready for that contest.

Predators' Juuse Saros: In goal Friday
Saros will start Friday's road game versus the Flames, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Saros ceded the crease to Scott Wedgewood for Thursday's game versus the Oilers. Saros has won just two of his last seven starts, posting a 2.55 GAA and a .913 save percentage in that span. The Flames have averaged 2.71 goals per game this season.

Predators' Jeremy Lauzon: Nabs helper in overtime loss
Lauzon notched an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Oilers.
Lauzon earned his first point of the season with a secondary helper on a Cole Smith goal late in the third period. While Lauzon has done next to nothing on offense, he has at least two hits in every game so far. The defenseman has totaled 79 hits, 21 blocked shots, 17 PIM, 15 shots on net and a minus-6 rating through 17 appearances while seeing top-four minutes.

Predators' Zachary L'Heureux: Snags assist Thursday
L'Heureux posted an assist and two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Oilers.
He snapped a five-game point drought with the helper on a Cole Smith goal in the third period. L'Heureux is up to three assists, 11 shots on net, 35 hits, six PIM and a minus-1 rating over 12 contests while filling a fourth-line role. The 21-year-old winger's gritty style has been a fine fit for the bottom six, and he's doing enough to keep Mark Jankowski in the press box for now.

Predators' Roman Josi: Manages assist in overtime loss
Josi posted an assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Oilers.
Josi has five helpers over his last four games. The defenseman set up a Michael McCarron tally in the first period to keep the streak going. Josi has earned his last two assists at even strength after being heavily dependent on the power play earlier in the season. He's at one goal, 11 helpers, eight power-play points, 64 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 18 hits and a minus-12 rating through 17 appearances overall.

Predators' Cole Smith: Lights lamp in overtime loss
Smith scored a goal, logged two hits and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Oilers.
Smith snapped an eight-game point drought with his third-period tally, which salvaged a standings point for the Predators. The 29-year-old winger has done little on offense this season with three points through 17 contests while filling a bottom-six role. He's added 14 shots on net, 43 hits, 13 PIM and a minus-6 rating. Smith offers plenty of grit and appears to have the upper hand to stay in the lineup over Mark Jankowski even if he doesn't score much.

Predators' Michael McCarron: Long-range tip-in goal
McCarron scored a goal, added two hits and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Oilers.
McCarron tipped in a goal from the high slot to open the scoring at 8:22 of the first period. The tally ended his six-game point drought, a span which included him sitting out twice as a healthy scratch. The 29-year-old forward has two goals, one assist, 12 shots on net, 30 hits, 23 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 15 appearances this season. He's a lock for bottom-six minutes when in the lineup, and that's unlikely to lead to enough offense to help fantasy managers.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Loses in overtime
Wedgewood stopped 31 of 34 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Oilers.
Wedgewood dropped to 1-2-1 on the year, but this was arguably his best outing. He was able to keep the game close, though the trio of Darnell Nurse, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl combined for three goals and seven points. Wedgewood has allowed 15 goals on 103 shots for an .854 save percentage through four appearances. Look for Juuse Saros to get the starting nod in Calgary on Friday to complete this back-to-back set in Alberta.

Predators' Thomas Novak: Unavailable Thursday
Novak (upper body) will miss Thursday's game against Edmonton, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.
Novak is set to miss his fifth straight game. He has three goals and four points in 12 outings in 2024-25. It remains to be seen if he'll be an option Friday versus Calgary.

Predators' Scott Wedgewood: Starting in Edmonton
Wedgewood will protect the road goal versus the Oilers on Thursday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Juuse Saros has already lost to the Oilers twice this season, and this is the first half of a back-to-back set, so Wedgewood will get the nod. Wedgewood hasn't been sharp in limited action, allowing 13 goals on 82 shots over three appearances, going 1-2-0 in those games.

Predators' Adam Wilsby: Called up by Nashville
Wilsby was recalled by the Predators on Wednesday, Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean reports.
Wilsby signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Predators in July and will join the NHL club ahead of Thursday's game against Edmonton. He hasn't yet made his NHL debut, but he's logged a goal and three points over 11 appearances with AHL Milwaukee to begin the year.

Predators' Marc Del Gaizo: Records helper
Del Gaizo registered an assist and two blocked shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche.
Del Gaizo looks to have job security now after the Predators lost Dante Fabbro on waivers to the Blue Jackets. The 25-year-old Del Gaizo is up to three assists, 15 shots on net, 16 hits, 12 blocked shots, eight PIM and a plus-1 rating through 10 contests. He should be able to add a little sandpaper in a third-pairing role, though it looks like he could also be a decent depth contributor on offense.

Predators' Juuso Parssinen: On four-game point streak
Parssinen notched an assist and four hits in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche.
Parssinen has two goals and two assists during his active four-game point streak. He set up a Luke Evangelista tally in the first period of Monday's game. Parssinen has five points, six shots on net, 19 hits and a minus-2 rating through eight appearances. While it took him a while to gain a steady spot in the lineup, he appears to have it now as the third-line center.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Gives up three goals Monday
Saros stopped 29 of 32 shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche.
Saros was beaten twice in the second period and once more in overtime, though there wasn't much he could have done on the game-winning goal from Samuel Girard, as it was a breakaway for the Avalanche defenseman. Saros couldn't build on the 26-save shutout win he posted vs. Utah on Nov. 9, but his numbers have been very good of late. Over his last five outings, Saros has gone 2-2-1 with a 2.00 GAA and an excellent .934 save percentage.

Predators' Luke Evangelista: Scores goal in OT loss
Evangelista scored a goal in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche.
Evangelista opened the scoring for the Predators just 1:45 into the game with a wrister that went past Alexandar Georgiev. The 22-year-old winger endured a rough spell in recent weeks but seems to be trending in the right direction of late, notching points in three of his last four games, with one goal and two assists in that span. However, Evangelista has just two goals in 16 games and owns a shooting percentage of just 6.9 percent, so he needs to be more accurate in front of the goal to have any chance of being a reliable fantasy contributor.
