Predators' Lucas Johansen: Earns tryout
Johansen signed a professional tryout agreement with Nashville on Wednesday, Emma Lingan of The Hockey News reports.
Johansen has just nine games of NHL experience, making him a long shot to earn a full contract coming out of training camp. Still, the 26-year-old blueliner could play his way into a two-way contract with a strong showing during the preseason. Even if that does happen, Johansen figures to play the majority of his games in the minors with AHL Milwaukee.

Predators' Philip Tomasino: Nabs one-year pact
Tomasino secured a one-year, $825,000 deal from Nashville on Wednesday.
Tomasino was only a part-time player with the Predators last season, logging 41 regular-season games in which he generated seven goals and 13 assists, including four power-play points. With the 23-year-old center now under contract, he should be in the mix for a spot in the bottom six -- though he may have to split his time between the NHL and AHL this season.

Predators' Cal O'Reilly: Attending camp on tryout
O'Reilly was invited to attend Nashville's training camp on a professional tryout agreement Tuesday.
O'Reilly produced 10 goals and 30 points in 69 games with AHL Milwaukee during the 2023-24 campaign before adding two tallies and four assists in 15 playoff contests. He signed a one-year AHL contract with the Admirals in July and will likely return to the minors for the start of the 2024-25 campaign.

Predators' Marc Del Gaizo: Grabs one-year deal
Del Gaizo inked a one-year, two-way contract with Nashville on Monday.
Given the depth ahead of him, Del Gaizo probably shouldn't be expected to make the Opening Night roster, though his positional rivals Spencer Stastney and Kevin Gravel are also on two-way deals. For his part, the 24-year-old Del Gaizo has logged nine NHL games in which he recorded three assists, eight shots and 20 hits while averaging 16:28 of ice time.

Predators' Juuso Parssinen: Inks one-year deal
Parssinen agreed to terms on a one-year $775,000 contract with Nashville on Monday.
Parssinen's deal is a one-way contract, which doesn't guarantee he'll start the season in the NHL but certainly makes it harder to ship him down to the minors. After suiting up in 45 regular-season contests with the Predators last year, in which he generated eight goals and four assists, the 23-year-old winger looks poised to be a full-time contributor with Nashville. While Parssinen will likely slot into a bottom-six role at the onset, an injury or two could open the door for more minutes and an increased role at even strength and on the power play later in the campaign.

Predators' Magnus Chrona: Traded to Nashville
Chrona was sent to Nashville from San Jose along with David Edstrom and a conditional first-round pick in 2025 in exchange for Yaroslav Askarov, Nolan Burke and a 2025 third-round selection Friday.
Chrona saw his first NHL action in 2023-24 for the bottom-dwelling Sharks, going 1-6-1 with a 4.71 GAA and an .859 save percentage. He will likely start the 2024-25 campaign with AHL Milwaukee, as the Predators are set between the pipes with Juuse Saros and Scott Wedgewood.

Predators' David Edstrom: Sent to Nashville
Edstrom was acquired along with Magnus Chrona and a 2025 conditional first-round pick by Nashville from San Jose in exchange for Yaroslav Askarov, Nolan Burke and a 2025 third-round selection Friday.
It was the second time in over five months that Edstrom has been dealt. He was selected in the first-round -- 32nd overall -- in 2023 by the Golden Knights and spent the 2023-24 campaign with Frolunda HC of the SHL, where he had seven goals and 19 points in 44 regular-season games. Edstrom is a two-way center who likely will become a solid No. 3 center in the NHL.

Predators' Jordan Frasca: Obtained in deal
Nashville obtained Frasca from Pittsburgh on Tuesday in exchange for Cody Glass, a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round selection.
Frasca generated 11 goals and 33 points in 40 regular-season contests for ECHL Wheeling in 2023-24. He didn't get on the scoresheet in three regular-season outings with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last campaign. The 23-year-old forward doesn't have any NHL experience yet. Frasca will likely spend most, if not all, of 2024-25 in the minors.

Predators' Spencer Stastney: Awarded two-year deal
Stastney's arbitration hearing will see him sign a two-year, $1.675 million contract with Nashville on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Stastney's deal will be a two-way contract in year one before converting to a one-way deal for the 2025-26 campaign. The 24-year-old blueliner has just 28 games of NHL experience in which he recorded two goals on 20 shots, four assists and 38 blocks. Given his two-way status for the upcoming campaign, Stastney figures to split his time between the AHL and NHL.

Wilsby signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Predators on Thursday.
Wilsby had eight goals and 21 points in 61 AHL contests with Milwaukee in 2023-24. The 23-year-old defenseman hasn't made his NHL debut yet and is likely to start the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.
