Kraken's Oliver Bjorkstrand: Snags helper in loss
Bjorkstrand provided an assist, three shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks.
Bjorkstrand has cooled off a bit -- this was his first point in his last three contests. The 29-year-old is up to 11 goals, 12 helpers, 73 shots on net, 36 hits and a plus-4 rating through 33 appearances this year. While in a third-line role, the balance of the Kraken's roster puts most of their forwards on fairly level production. Bjorkstrand has among the highest upside of any Seattle forward, as he should push for the 20-goal and 50-point marks.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Gives up three goals Thursday
Daccord stopped 21 of 24 shots in Thursday's loss to the Blackhawks.
Daccord has lost his past three starts, going 0-2-1 with a 2.39 GAA and a .917 save percentage in that span, but what's even more worrisome is the fact that he hasn't reached a .890 save percentage in his last two appearances. The 28-year-old has made 22 starts for the Kraken in 2024-25, going 12-8-2 with a 2.49 GAA and a .913 save percentage, however, so perhaps he's simply going through a rough patch. Things won't get easier for him or the Kraken, as they'll continue their road trip with games against the Golden Knights and Avalanche on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, before the Christmas break. With it being a back-to-back look for Daccord to split the set with Philipp Grubauer.

Kraken's Ryker Evans: Nets goal vs. Chicago
Evans scored a goal in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks.
Evans recorded his first point since returning from a two-game absence in early December, and this second-period strike was his first goal since Oct. 29. The 23-year-old has four goals and 17 points across 32 games this season, and he's delivered decent production relative to his role since he's also notched 50 hits and 51 blocked shots.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Set to start Thursday
Daccord will protect the road goal in Thursday's game versus the Blackhawks, per the NHL media site.
Daccord has allowed four goals on 60 shots over his last two games, but he has gone 0-1-1 in that span since the Kraken have given him just one goal of support. He'll have a favorable matchup Thursday in his second straight start. Daccord has been the better of the Kraken's goalies, but he could use a good performance to build some momentum.

Kraken's Yanni Gourde: Expected to return
Gourde (lower body) is set to return Thursday versus Chicago.
Gourde missed Seattle's past three games due to the injury. He has five goals and 14 points in 29 appearances in 2024-25. Gourde is projected to play on the second line alongside Jaden Schwartz and Brandon Tanev. Mitchell Stephens, who played in Seattle's 3-0 loss to Ottawa on Tuesday, was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley.

Kraken's Mitchell Stephens: Reassigned to AHL
Stephens was sent to AHL Coachella Valley on Thursday.
Stephens has an assist in nine outings with Seattle as well as three goals and four points in 11 appearances with Coachella Valley in 2024-25. His demotion might be a result of Seattle acquiring Kaapo Kakko from the Rangers on Wednesday, and if that's the case, then Stephens might be in the minors for a significant amount of time.

Kraken's Kaapo Kakko: Dealt to Seattle
Kakko was traded from the Rangers to the Kraken on Wednesday in exchange for Will Borgen, a 2025 third-round pick and a 2025 sixth-round pick, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.
The Rangers continue to retool their roster amid a brutal slump, and this time, it'll lead to them parting with the second-overall pick from 2019. Kakko has yet to live up to that draft position -- his best season was in 2022-23 when he had 18 goals and 40 points in 82 games. Kakko should slot into a middle-six role and have a better chance at power-play time in Seattle, but his new team's offense-by-committee approach is unlikely to unlock more scoring in his game.

Kraken's Ryan Winterton: Sent back to minors
Winterton was returned to AHL Coachella Valley on Wednesday.
Winterton has appeared in eight NHL games for the Kraken this year, generating one assist, 13 hits and eight shots while averaging 10:22 of ice time. While this likely won't be the last time Winterton is on the NHL roster, he figures to play the bulk of his minutes this year with the Firebirds.

Kraken's Will Borgen: Sticking in lineup without scoring
Borgen was held off the scoresheet for the 17th straight game in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Senators.
The Kraken don't have a strong offense, and that makes it tough for a defense-first player like Borgen to chip in points. The 27-year-old has just two points over 33 outings this season. He's added a physical element with 48 hits, 37 blocked shots and nine PIM. Borgen seems to be pretty safe in the lineup -- Josh Mahura has typically only played when there's an injury concern.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Gets no help in loss
Daccord stopped 24 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Senators.
The Kraken generated some pressure but didn't get enough good chances to give Daccord any help. The 28-year-old has gone 2-2-1 with 12 goals allowed over his last five appearances, so he remains a fairly steady performer when he plays, though he has lost time to Philipp Grubauer recently. Daccord is 12-7-2 with a 2.46 GAA and a .915 save percentage through 21 appearances this season. The Kraken begin a road trip in Chicago on Thursday.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Starting Tuesday
Daccord will protect the home goal in Tuesday's game versus the Senators, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.
Daccord will make just his second start in six games. The 28-year-old goalie is 3-2-1 with 16 goals allowed on 160 shots over his last six outings, a slight regression from his stronger play earlier in the season.

Kraken's Yanni Gourde: Unlikely to play Tuesday
Gourde (lower body) isn't expected to play against Ottawa on Tuesday, per Sound of Hockey.
Gourde stayed on the ice late with Seattle's scratches following Tuesday's morning skate, indicating he isn't ready to return. He has contributed five goals, 14 points, 41 hits and 33 shots on net through 29 appearances this season. With Gourde likely to miss his third straight game, Ryan Winterton will presumably remain in the lineup versus the Senators.

Kraken's Yanni Gourde: Practices Monday
Gourde (lower body) took part in Monday's practice and will be reevaluated prior to puck drop against the Senators on Tuesday, Alison Lukan of the Kraken Hockey Network reports.
Gourde seems to be trending in the right direction after having missed the Kraken's previous two contests due to his lower-body issue. Prior to getting hurt, the 33-year-old winger had notched five goals and five assists in his previous 12 outings. Gourde figures to retake his spot in the top six once given the all-clear.

Kraken's Eeli Tolvanen: Assists in back-to-back games
Tolvanen notched a power-play assist, five shots on goal and five hits in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Lightning.
Tolvanen continues to hum on offense with a goal and five assists over his last five outings. The winger is up to 15 points (four on the power play), 50 shots on net, 84 hits, 21 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 32 appearances. The Kraken's listed third line of Tolvanen, Shane Wright and Oliver Bjorkstrand is carrying the offense lately, and Tolvanen's mix of offense and physical play is worth a look in deeper fantasy formats.

Kraken's Shane Wright: Posts assist in loss
Wright managed a power-play assist and went minus-2 in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Lightning.
Wright has three goals and four helpers over his last six outings, and three of those seven points have come on the power play. The 20-year-old center is up to 14 points (five on the power play), 27 shots on net, 22 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 29 appearances this season. Wright is starting to show some of his immense promise on offense, though he remains limited to a bottom-six role at even strength.
