Phil Steele's 2013 preview magazine will hit newsstands this month -- an event we here at the Eye On College Football refer to as "Steelemas" -- but his preseason All-American team was released on Wednesday.
Steele fills out four teams, complete with specialists, to make a 120-player list. Alabama leads all schools with eight selections, with State" data-canon="Ohio Bobcats" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" id="shortcode0">, Stanford and Florida State checking in with five selections each. USC, Oregon and Kansas State each had four players selected to the squad.
From a conference angle, the SEC led the way with 27 players selected. The Pac-12 checked in second with 20 players, followed by the ACC (19), Big 12 (16), Big Ten (15), American Athletic Conference (5), MAC (5), Mountain West (3), Conference USA (3) and Sun Belt (2).
