  Alcantara (13-10) took the loss against the Mets on Tuesday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out one batter in 4.1 innings. Alcantara put the Marlins in a large hole early, with four of the six runs he gave up through the first three innings coming on home runs from Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto and Brett Baty. It's the fourth time this season (and second time since the All-Star break) that Alcantara has given up three home runs in a start, and this marks the fourth time this year that he's given up at least seven earned runs in an outing. He has an 0-4 record over his last six starts with a 4.95 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 36.1 innings. Alcantara will look to get back on track next week against the Diamondbacks.

  Alcantara didn't factor into the decision against the Red Sox on Monday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks in seven innings. He struck out six. Alcantara outlasted Ranger Suarez in Monday's pitching duel, firing seven innings as opposed to Suarez's five frames of one-run ball. The workhorse right-hander has been a model of consistency since the beginning of June, rattling off six consecutive quality starts and 14 such efforts in his last 16 outings. Alcantara will aim to extend his streak of quality starts this weekend in Washington, where he'll take a 3.38 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 137:49 K:BB across 183.2 innings.

  Alcantara (13-7) took the loss Friday as the Marlins were downed 1-0 by the Reds, allowing one run on three hits and four walks over seven innings. He struck out out. The veteran right-hander didn't have his best stuff or best command, but Alcantara still put together his fourth straight quality start and MLB-leading 19th of the season on 103 pitches (67 strikes), only to have Chase Burns be just a little bit stingier opposite him. Alcantara was also a little unlucky -- he saw his scoreless streak end at 25.2 innings when Eugenio Suarez dumped a ball into left field that Heriberto Hernandez badly misplayed, allowing Tyler Stephenson to lumber home from first base as the ball rolled to the warning track on what was officially ruled a double. Alcantara has become a throwback workhorse of late, lasting at least seven innings in six of eight starts since the beginning of July while compiling a 1.80 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 46:14 K:BB through 55 frames. He'll look to get more offensive support in his next outing, which is set to come on the road next week in Philadelphia.

  Alcantara (13-6) picked up the win in Saturday's 7-0 rout of the Angels, scattering three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out eight. With his eighth out of the afternoon -- a strikeout of Josh Lowe -- the veteran righty became the Marlins' all-time leader in innings pitched, passing Ricky Nolasco. Alcantara has been locked in of late, tossing 20 consecutive shutout frames over his last three outings and winning all three while posting a 0.75 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB. His 13 wins are tied for second in the NL, behind Cristopher Sanchez's 15. Alcantara will look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in Cincinnati.

That makes it back-to-back scoreless starts for Alcantara, who continues to be a workhorse for the Marlins in 2026. The right-hander has reached the 90-pitch mark in all but two of his 24 outings -- reaching the 100-pitch plateau in half of them -- and he's now thrown at least six innings in six consecutive appearances and 11 of his last 12. Alcantara is set to bring a 3.68 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 120:41 K:BB over 156.2 frames into a soft home matchup against the Angels.
