• Marlins' Eury Perez: Mixed results in sixth loss

  Perez (7-6) took the loss Saturday against the Mets, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out 11. It was a mixed bag for Perez, who struggled with hard contact by yielding three extra-base hits but fanned a season-high 11. The hard-throwing right-hander had an up-and-down year after a late start amid his recovery from 2024 Tommy John surgery, though he flashed plenty of upside for fantasy managers to take into consideration ahead of 2026. Perez will end the campaign with a 4.25 ERA across 95.1 innings, but his 1.05 WHIP, 105:32 K:BB and .195 opponent batting average are highly promising figures.

  Perez (6-5) took the loss Wednesday as the Marlins were downed 10-5 by the Nationals, surrendering seven runs on eight hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out two. Two of the hits off Perez left the yard, including Nasim Nunez's first career homer in the majors -- continuing a downturn that has seen the right-hander serve up multiple home runs in four of six starts since the beginning of August, a stretch in which he's been saddled with an 8.53 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB over 25.1 innings. Perez will try to get back on track in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week in a rematch with the Nats.

• Marlins' Eury Perez: Fails to escape first frame

  Perez (6-4) took the loss against the Mets on Friday, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks in two-thirds of an inning without recording a strikeout. Perez entered Friday's contest on the heels of a quality start against the Blue Jays on Sunday. Any momentum from that outing fizzled out immediately Friday, with the 22-year-old right-hander allowing the first five batters he faced on board, which converted into five runs on homers from Juan Soto and Brandon Nimmo. Perez was pulled after tossing 39 pitches (21 strikes) and recording just two outs, which is the shortest outing of his major-league career since July 1, 2023 against Atlanta, when he logged just one out while allowing six runs in a loss. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Nationals.

• Marlins' Eury Perez: Logs quality start in win

  Perez (6-3) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six innings. Perez cruised through six scoreless innings before the first two batters he faced in the seventh reached base and scored on a homer allowed by Lake Bachar. Perez generated 18 swinging strikes on 94 pitches, completing six frames for just the second time in seven outings since the All-Star break. He'll take a 3.44 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 70:25 K:BB across 70.2 innings into a road matchup with the Mets next weekend.

  Perez did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and four walks over 4.1 innings against St. Louis. He struck out six. Perez worked through four scoreless innings before stumbling in the fifth inning, where shaky defense and spotty command kept him from finishing the frame. Overall, the hard-throwing righty has been solid in his return from Tommy John surgery, logging 64.2 innings across 13 starts with a 3.48 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 2025.
