  • The Rays claimed Bido off waivers from Atlanta on Friday. Bido has now bounced around via waivers from the Athletics to Atlanta and now to Tampa Bay this month. The right-hander had an unsightly 5.87 ERA and 18.7 percent strikeout rate in 2025, but he was much better in 2024 with a 3.41 ERA and 24.3 percent strikeout rate. Bido does not have minor-league options left, but he offers the flexibility to be used either in a starting or relief role.

  • Bido struck out a batter and allowed two earned runs on three hits and no walks over 2.1 innings of relief in Saturday's 9-3 loss to the Rangers. Bido made a three-inning start in his last appearance Tuesday against the Tigers, but he shifted back to the bullpen over the weekend and looks poised to serve as a reliever moving forward. Rookie Mason Barnett entered the Athletics rotation Saturday, and Luis Severino (oblique) is set to be activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, so the team won't have a starting spot available for Bido.

  • Bido earned the save in Thursday's 8-3 win over Minnesota, allowing a run on two hits while striking out four over three innings. It's the first save for Bido in his three-year MLB career. The right-hander has been decent in a long-relief role of late, posting a 3.18 ERA across 17 innings in his last seven appearances. Overall, Bido sports a 5.37 ERA with a 1.58 WHIP and 49:25 K:BB through 65.1 innings this season.
