  • Jacob Webb: Cut loose by Texas
    By RotoWire

The Rangers non-tendered Webb on Friday. Webb signed a one-year deal with the Rangers in December after spending the 2024 campaign with the Orioles, but the 32-year-old right-hander will now be on the lookout for a team in need of bullpen depth. He finished the 2025 regular season with seven holds along with a 3.00 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 58:19 K:BB across 66 innings.

The Rangers activated Webb (back) from the 15-day injured list Thursday. Webb has been sidelined all month with back spasms but is ready to roll after making three rehab appearances with Triple-A Round Rock. The 32-year-old has offered decent results in middle relief for the Rangers this season and will return to that role.

  • The Rangers placed Webb on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, retroactive to Tuesday, due to back spasms. Webb may have started feeling symptoms during his last outing Monday against the Angels, when he allowed one run on two hits while striking out four across 1.2 innings. He'll undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury and an estimated schedule for a return, but his absence will require the Rangers to lean more on Cole Winn and Caleb Boushley for relief work. The Rangers recalled Luis Curvelo from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

  • Webb (4-3) was credited with the win in Friday's 3-1 victory over the White Sox, allowing one hit and no walks over two scoreless innings of relief. He struck out one. Webb gave the Rangers two spotless innings amid a bullpen game for the club, registering his fifth scoreless outing in a row. The 31-year-old right-hander should work as a middle reliever and occasionally a high-leverage arm going forward. On the campaign, Webb owns a 4.26 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB with five holds over 31.2 innings.

  • Webb (2-3) took the loss in Wednesday's 2-0 defeat to Toronto after allowing two runs on two hits in the ninth inning. Webb was tasked with keeping the game tied in the ninth frame but served up a two-run home run to Bo Bichette (back), who came off the bench as a pinch hitter. Robert Garcia was brought on to handle Anthony Santander, Vladimir Guerrero and George Springer in the eighth, which was likely viewed by manager Bruce Bochy as the higher-leverage situation. Webb may have hurt his chances at seeing future ninth-inning work in Texas' bullpen, and he now owns a 5.47 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 18:10 K:BB over 24.2 frames.
