Sanchez threw seven shutout innings before returning to the mound to start the eighth frame. He yielded a leadoff homer to Tyrone Taylor and a single to Harrison Bader to start the eighth before being removed. He's tentatively scheduled for a rematch with the Mets next weekend.

  • Sanchez came away with a no-decision Monday against the Rays. He allowed four hits and a walk while striking out four over six scoreless innings. Sanchez got through six innings and exited the game with the possibility of picking up his 11th win, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead. Monday was Sanchez's fourth start this season of six or more innings without allowing a run and his first such start since June. The 27-year-old has followed up his breakout 2023 season with 16 quality starts and a 3.33 ERA through 165 innings.

  • Sanchez allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out eight over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Thursday. Sanchez had recorded a decision in 12 straight starts, going 6-6 with a 3.91 ERA over 76 innings in that span. He gave up three of the four runs on his line Thursday on a pair of home runs by Matt Olson, but Philadelphia was able to come from behind for the win. Sanchez hadn't given up multiple homers in any of his first 25 starts this season, though he's now yielded seven long balls over 10 starts since the beginning of July. He's pitched to a 3.49 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 124:36 K:BB through 152 innings over 26 starts this season. His next outing is projected to be at Toronto.

  • Sanchez (7-7) took the loss against the Yankees Wednesday, allowing six runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven. Sanchez didn't pitch as poorly as his final line would indicate -- the majority of the damage against him came on DJ LeMahieu's grand slam in the second inning. The left-hander would then keep the Yankees off the board for three straight innings. Sanchez allowed a pair of two-out singles in the sixth before he was replaced by Jose Ruiz, who would allow both inherited runners to score. It's the third straight loss for Sanchez, who's struggled to a 6.59 ERA in his last five outings. His ERA is up to 3.36 on the season with a 1.28 WHIP and 98:31 K:BB across 21 starts (120.2 innings). Sanchez is projected for a tough road matchup with the Dodgers early next week.

  • Sanchez (7-5) took the loss Saturday as the Phillies were downed 4-1 by the Pirates, giving up two runs on eight hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out two without walking a batter. The southpaw didn't pitch poorly, tossing 56 of 90 pitches for strikes as he fell just short of his 11th quality start of the season, but the Phillies' offense couldn't solve Luis Ortiz. Sanchez has allowed two runs or less in five of his last six starts, posting a 2.79 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 28:5 K:BB in 38.2 innings over that stretch. He'll look for a better result in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Guardians.
