  • Zach Dezenzo SS | HOU

Astros' Zach Dezenzo: Knocks in two

Dezenzo went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Wednesday against the Reds.

Dezenzo drew only his second start against a right-handed pitcher in the team's last seven games. Despite coming through with a two-RBI single in the sixth inning, he's struggled through his first 55 plate appearances in the majors, striking out at a 32.7 percent clip while hitting only .212.

  • Austin Shenton 1B | SEA

Rays' Austin Shenton: Back in big leagues

The Rays recalled Shenton from Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Shenton has a .697 OPS in 44 plate appearances during his time in the big leagues this season and has posted an .858 OPS with 20 homers this year at Durham. The lefty-hitting first baseman/designated hitter could see the occasional start against right-handed pitching.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Swats 13th homer

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Twins.

He took Louie Varland deep in the fourth inning, capping an eight-run eruption for the Rays offense. It's Diaz's 13th homer of the season, and third in his last six games as he catches fire for the home stretch. Over 28 contests since the beginning of August, the 33-year-old is slashing .294/.362/.461 with 12 RBI and 12 runs.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Twins' Carlos Santana: Belts homer No. 20

Santana went 1-for-3 with two walks and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 9-4 loss to the Rays.

The veteran first baseman took Tyler Alexander deep in the seventh inning, giving Santana homers in back-to-back games. He's up to 20 long balls on the year, the ninth time in his career he's reached that mark, but as per usual he isn't doing much for fantasy GMs in batting average -- over 30 contests since the beginning of August, Santana's slashing .206/.322/.423.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Two hits, home run vs. O's

Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 8-1 win over Baltimore.

Vaughn put the White Sox ahead 2-1 in the fourth inning with a 413-foot blast off Albert Suarez, his 16th homer of the year. Vaughn recorded his first multi-hit game since August 25 -- the first baseman had been stuck in a 1-for-25 slump across seven contests coming into Wednesday. Overall, Vaughn's slashing .237/.292/.393 on the year with 60 RBI, 50 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases across 534 plate appearances.

  • Niko Kavadas 1B | LAA

Angels' Niko Kavadas: Pops second homer

Kavadas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Dodgers.

Kavadas has gotten off to a slow start in his big-league career, hitting safely in just four of his first 13 games. He has two homers, one stolen base and four RBI so far, but he's also piled up 21 strikeouts. Kavadas looks to have settled into a platoon role at designated hitter, but that high strikeout rate could cost him playing time down the stretch even with the Angels in evaluation mode.

  • Nate Lowe 1B | BOS

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Rips three hits in win

Lowe went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Yankees.

Lowe has gone 11-for-30 (.367) over his last nine games, though he has just two extra-base hits and 10 strikeouts in that span. The first baseman hit just .211 in August, so it's good to see him find his swing again. Overall, he has a .258/.349/.375 slash line with 11 home runs, 51 RBI, 52 runs scored, 13 doubles and two stolen bases over 118 contests this season.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Naylor (back) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Kansas City.

Naylor had to be lifted from Tuesday's game with an acute back spasm and is considered day-to-day. With a team off day Thursday, he will hope to be back in there for Friday's series opener against the Dodgers. Kyle Manzardo will man first base Wednesday versus the Royals.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: On bench Wednesday

Singleton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Singleton started the previous two games but will sit Wednesday while in the midst of a 4-for-26 slump. Zach Dezenzo is manning first base and batting eighth versus Cincinnati righty Nick Martinez.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Four-hit effort in loss

Guerrero went 4-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 10-9 loss to the Phillies.

The first baseman led a 16-hit barrage for the Blue Jays and added his 28th homer of the season off Taijuan Walker in the sixth inning, but it wasn't enough. Guerrero is once again one of the hottest hitters in the majors, racking up seven multi-hit performance over his last nine contests while slashing .500/.550/.806 over that stretch with five doubles, two home runs, eight runs and eight RBI.
