  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Guardians' Rhys Hoskins: Swats three-run homer in loss

Hoskins went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and one walk in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Royals.

Hoskins took Stephen Kolek deep in the fourth inning, accounting for Cleveland's lone extra-base hit of the night and all three runs. Hoskins has now homered in two of his last four games after going deep just once in Cleveland's first 32 contests. The veteran first baseman is slashing .207/.353/.390 with three homers, 13 RBI, 15 runs scored and an 18:28 BB:K across 102 plate appearances this season.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Orioles' Pete Alonso: Crosses plate four times in Miami

Alonso went 2-for-3 with two walks, two doubles, four runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Marlins.

Facing a familiar foe from his NL East days with the Mets, Alonso put together one of his best performances as a member of the Orioles. The veteran first baseman has caught fire over the last week after a sluggish start to the season, hitting safely in six straight games while batting .400 (8-for-20) with four doubles, two homers, five RBI and nine runs.

  • Astros' Christian Walker: Launches ninth homer

Walker went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers.

Walker opened the scoring in the second inning with a 305-foot blast off Shohei Ohtani, his ninth homer of the year and the first given up by Ohtani this season. Walker has been red hot at the plate to start the year -- he's gone 21-for-54 (.389) with five homers and a 1.153 OPS in his last 14 games, boosting his slash line to .308/.384/.579 through 151 plate appearances this season.

  • Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt: Homers against Texas

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Rangers.

Goldschmidt connected for his second homer of the season and first since April 1, taking Tyler Alexander deep for a solo shot in the eighth inning to extend the lead. The blast was also the 374th home run of his career, moving him into 82nd place on the all-time leaderboard. The veteran has started to show signs of life at the plate, reaching base safely in five straight games. Goldschmidt is currently slashing .209/.306/.442 with four doubles, seven RBI and 10 runs scored in 49 trips to the plate.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Mariners' Josh Naylor: Notches two steals in loss

Naylor went 2-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Atlanta.

Naylor's bat has come around lately, and that's given him more opportunities to run. He's hit safely in 12 of his last 15 contests, a span that includes all six of his steals this season. The first baseman is batting .233 with a .645 OPS, four home runs, 17 RBI, eight runs scored and three doubles over 34 games. Naylor's a contact hitter, so he should be able to continue rebounding closer to his career norms as he gets some distance from his slow start to the year.

  • White Sox's Munetaka Murakami: Receiving rare day of rest

Murakami is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Angels.

Tuesday will mark Murakami's second day off this season, but he has appeared in every game for the White Sox. The rookie has continued his success into May with a 1.122 OPS and two home runs across the first four games of the month. The White Sox are shifting around the infield Tuesday, with Miguel Vargas at first base, Colson Montgomery at third base and Luisangel Acuna at shortstop.

  • Dustin Harris LF | HOU

Astros' Dustin Harris: DFA'd by Astros

The Astros designated Harris for assignment Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Harris appeared in 11 games after joining the Astros in mid-April, during which he went 7-for-31 (.226) at the plate with four RBI, four runs and two steals. He'll lose his place on the active roster to make room for Zach Dezenzo, who was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move.

  • Justin Foscue 2B | TEX

Rangers' Justin Foscue: Elevated to big-league roster

The Rangers recalled Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Foscue has gotten off to a strong start at Round Rock this season, slashing .287/.407/.426 with a pair of home runs and a 22:22 BB:K over 30 contests. The 27-year-old is just 3-for-51 at the plate during his limited big-league opportunities, but he could see a bit of action at second base while Josh Smith (glute) is sidelined.

  • Ben Rice 1B | NYY

Yankees' Ben Rice: Remaining on bench Tuesday

Rice (hand) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

It's the second straight absence for Rice after he was removed early from Sunday's game against the Orioles due to a left hand contusion, which he sustained on a low pickoff throw. The 26-year-old said Tuesday that his hand feels better after treatment, and he will try swinging a bat pregame, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. Rice should be considered day-to-day while Paul Goldschmidt receives another start at first base.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Receiving first day off

Guerrero is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays.

It's the first game off of the season for Guerrero, who has struggled a bit since the start of May, going 3-for-17 with two walks, an RBI and three runs. Lenyn Sosa will pick up a start at first base Tuesday for the Blue Jays.
