Rays' Yandy Diaz: Receives cortisone shot
Diaz (shoulder), who isn't starting Thursday against the Blue Jays, recently received a cortisone injection, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz is on the bench for a third consecutive game Thursday due to left shoulder soreness , but manager Kevin Cash said that the third baseman is trending in the right direction. It's possible Diaz returns to action for Friday's matchup against Toronto.

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Recalled from Triple-A
Dalbec was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
He is not in the lineup against the Yankees but should be available off the bench. Dalbec should occupy the short side of a platoon at first base while also seeing time at designated hitter and as a pinch hitter. He hit .250 with five home runs and 14 strikeouts in 13 games at Triple-A this month.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Still out Thursday
Diaz (shoulder) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Blue Jays, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
This is the third game in a row that Diaz will miss with left shoulder soreness. Jonathan Aranda is leading off and manning the hot corner while Ji-Man Choi starts at first base and hits eighth.

Naylor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 8-2 victory over the White Sox.
Naylor homered off righty reliever Jose Ruiz with one out in the seventh to build the Guardians' lead to 8-1. The first baseman has struggled to find hits in his last 10 games, turning in a .189 average over 37 at-bats; however, the 25-year-old has two home runs, six RBI and six walks during that same span.

Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Launches three-run homer in loss
Guerrero went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to the Phillies.
Guerrero provided all the offense for the Blue Jays in Wednesday's contest, launching a three-run shot off Seranthony Dominguez in the top of the eighth inning. The homer was his 30th of the year and third in his last seven games. Guerrero also extended his hit streak to 14 consecutive games in the contest, batting .306 with three homers, five doubles, seven RBI, nine runs and a stolen base over that span.

Rays' Kyle Manzardo: Rakes in Double-A to close out 2022
Manzardo hit .327/.405/.582 with five home runs and a 14:19 BB:K across 29 games to finish out the season following his promotion to Double-A Montgomery.
That's almost as good as what he did at High-A Bowling Green before being promoted (.329/.436/.636). He finishes the 2022 regular season with 22 homers and 81 RBI in 93 games across the two levels, not to mention nearly as many walks (59) as strikeouts (65). The 21-year-old Manzardo could very well crack the majors at some point next year.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Dealing with shoulder soreness
Diaz isn't starting Wednesday against the Astros due to left shoulder soreness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz is on the bench for a second consecutive matchup Wednesday, but his absence from Tuesday's lineup was partially due to the fact that he got into an altercation with teammate Randy Arozarena in the parking lot following Monday's game. It's not yet clear whether Diaz will be available off the bench Wednesday, but he should tentatively be considered day-to-day.

Arias was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.
Arias has had brief stints with the big-league club this year, and he hit .105 with two runs, an RBI, a walk and eight strikeouts over six games. He'll rejoin the Guardians after Ernie Clement was designated for assignment, but Arias will likely have to settle for a depth role.
