  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Torkelson is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Astros.

Torkelson is hitting .265/.375/.471 with one home run, six strikeouts and four walks in 10 games since returning from Triple-A. Harold Castro will start at first base and hit third.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Clubs 15th homer

Abreu went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Rockies.

Abreu had to wait awhile to reach the 15-homer mark this year -- he entered Tuesday with a 37-game power drought dating back to Aug. 3. Over that span, the first baseman managed to hit .331, but he slugged just .373 with only six doubles, 11 RBI and 20 runs scored. The 35-year-old is up to a .312/.386/.457 slash line with 67 RBI, 79 runs scored and 33 doubles through 140 contests. Given his age, it's a little concerning to see the power drop off for such an extended stretch, though his contact skills remain sharp enough for him to retain solid fantasy value.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Tallies eighth homer

Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Tigers.

Gurriel took Andrew Chafin yard in the seventh inning to tally his eighth homer of the season. It was his first long ball in 59 games, spanning back to July 1. In addition to his power outage, Gurriel also has maintained a weak .245/.293/.370 line across 518 plate appearances on the season -- good for an 89 wRC+.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Two-run shot in loss

Casas went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and one steal in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Yankees.

Casas got Boston on the board with a two-run homer to score Rafael Devers in the second inning. Boston would go on to lose the game in extras, but the showing was a good sign for Casas, who was just 2-for-21 in the big leagues entering Tuesday. The home run gives manager Alex Cora good reason to continue to roll with the rookie, as the Red Sox are out of the playoff race.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Homers in win

Mountcastle went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Nationals.

Mountcastle had a big day at the plate Tuesday, as he recorded two hits, including his 22nd homer of the season, a solo shot to right to tie the game at 3-3 in the fifth inning. The multi-hit effort was Mountcastle's fifth so far in September, and the homer his fouth of the month. He is slashing .247/.297/.436 on the season.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Tigers' Kody Clemens: Leads offense Tuesday

Clemens went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Astros.

Clemens was the only Detroit hitter to contribute two hits, with one of those knocks being his fourth home run of the season. The rookie is seeing sporadic playing time and is batting just .154 with a .519 OPS, so while Tuesday's outburst was nice, he doesn't have a ton of fantasy appeal at this point.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Not starting nightcap

Diaz is not starting the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz went 3-for-4 and scored two runs in the Rays' Game 1 victory Tuesday. He'll get a breather during the second game and pass third base duties to Isaac Paredes, who will bat eighth.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Good to go Tuesday

France (wrist) is starting at first base and batting second Tuesday against the Padres.

The 28-year-old's left wrist injury flared up over the weekend and kept him out of the lineup Sunday versus Atlanta, but he's back in action after Seattle's scheduled day off Monday. France is off to a slow start in September with a .200/.220/.450 slash line through 10 games.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Out until at least Friday

Rizzo (head) will not play until this weekend in Milwaukee at the earliest, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Rizzo said Tuesday that he is targeting a return either this weekend in Milwaukee or next week at home for the Pirates. A few days ago it was reported that Rizzo is no longer experiencing headaches. Marwin Gonzalez has been starting at first base lately.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Sits versus lefty

Naylor is on the bench Monday against the Angels.

It appears to be a regular day off for Naylor as the Guardians face lefty Reid Detmers. Jose Ramirez is the designated hitter in place of Naylor, who has slashed .297/.366/.486 with a home run, four doubles and five RBI since the beginning of September.
