Arias hit a two-run home run in his only at-bat in Friday's 10-9 extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Arias entered the game as a pinch runner for Josh Bell in the seventh inning, and he stayed in as the first baseman. In the 10th, Arias put the Guardians ahead with his two-run homer, only for the Mets to rally for three runs off Emmanuel Clase in the bottom of the frame. Arias has homered in each of the last two games, and he's up to three long balls in 70 plate appearances. The versatile infielder has added four RBI, five runs scored and three doubles while slashing .203/.271/.391 this season.

Noda went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Astros.

Noda has struggled to make contact lately, going 3-for-30 (.100) over his last 11 games with a 29.3 percent strikeout rate -- though he also has an impressive 24.4 percent walk rate in that span. The first baseman is getting on base enough to maintain a consistent spot in the lineup against right-handed pitchers. He's slashing .218/.403/.418 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 22 runs scored and two steals through 144 plate appearances.

Naylor went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI in Friday's loss to the Mets.

Naylor started the game with a bang, taking Carlos Carrasco deep with a three-run blast in the first inning. It was Naylor's seventh long ball of the year and fourth over his last five games. During that brief stretch, he's boosted his season OPS from .548 to .707.

Casas is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Padres, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Casas will take a seat against southpaw Blake Snell on Friday for the series opener against San Diego. Justin Turner will handle first base and hit second with Casas on the bench.

Guerrero (knee) is back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

Guerrero didn't play Wednesday, but he was able to pinch hit Thursday and ran the bases before Friday's game. He'll be the designated hitter in this one, with Brandon Belt handling first base.

Diaz (groin) remains out of the Rays' lineup for Friday's game versus the Brewers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

It's the fourth straight game Diaz has missed due to a left groin injury. Tampa Bay has been reluctant to place him on the injured list, but he'll need to show improvement soon to avoid it. Luke Raley is at first base Friday.

Naylor is back in the Guardians' lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.

Naylor missed two contests with left leg tightness but is feeling well enough to give it a go. He'll be the designated hitter while Josh Bell handles first base.

Guerrero (knee) ran the bases at Rogers Centre before Friday's game, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.

Longley added that Guerrero was running the bases "aggressively." The Blue Jays have not released their lineup for Friday's game versus the Orioles yet, but given that he served as a pinch hitter Thursday, Guerrero would seem to have a good shot at playing.

The first baseman sat out Wednesday's game after tweaking his knee Tuesday while attempting to field a bunt, but the fact that the Blue Jays were willing to let Guerrero hit a day later is a strong sign his absence should be brief. He's slashing .312/383/.516 on the year with seven homers and 27 RBI in 41 games.

Arias went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Thursday's victory over the White Sox.

Arias turned a fastball into a 425-foot homer to get Cleveland on the board. He got the start at first base Thursday but has played all four infield positions and right field in 2023. He's slashing .190/.261/.333 with two homers and no additional RBI in 69 plate appearances, making it unlikely that he moves out of his current utility role.
