France (wrist) is starting at first base and hitting second Friday against the Angels.

A wrist injury sidelined him for almost a week, but he was expected back for this weekend series. France hit .275/.338/.478 with three home runs in 17 games during July.

Manzardo has hit six home runs while batting .444 over his last 10 games for High-A Bowling Green and is now up to 17 long balls with a .326/.429/.633 batting line on the season.

Manzardo came into this season with concerns about his power potential, especially relative to the expectations at first base, but he's been quieting the naysayers. The combination of power and plate discipline is fantasy gold, and that's exactly what Manzardo has offered this year, as his walk rate (16 percent) isn't far behind his strikeout rate (17.2 percent). The 22-year-old will need to maintain this sort of performance at the higher levels of the minors, of course, but he could conceivably get that opportunity soon.

Guerrero went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Twins.

Guerrero's double gave him a 15-game hitting streak, and he added a three-run homer in the eighth inning to cap the Blue Jays' offense for this contest. During the streak, the first baseman has been quite productive, hitting .417 with 10 extra-base hits, four stolen bases, 10 RBI and 14 runs scored. The surge has him up to a .286/.359/.508 slash line through 448 plate appearances, with his slugging percentage at its highest mark since June 19. He's added 22 homers, 66 RBI, 61 runs scored and four steals this year.

Santana, who went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Yankees on Wednesday, now has 16 RBI in 30 games with the Mariners after posting just 21 in 52 contests with the Royals prior to being traded.

Santana's blast off Gerrit Cole on Wednesday locked in double-digit homers for the veteran for the 11th time in 12 seasons and extended a welcome stretch of RBI production for him since arriving in Seattle via trade June 27. Santana is hitting just .196 over his first 115 plate appearances with the Mariners, but he's managed a much more palatable .243 figure with men on base and has laced nine (three doubles, six home runs) of his 19 hits for extra bases.

Calhoun was placed on the 10-day injured list with right heel irritation Thursday, retroactive to Aug. 3.

Calhoun was slated to miss a second consecutive game Thursday against the White Sox, but his absence was apparently due to an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined until at least next weekend. The severity of the issue isn't yet clear, but prospect Bubba Thompson will have a chance to carve out playing time in the outfield after his contract was selected Thursday.

Dalbec is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Even with southpaw Kris Bubic taking the hill for Kansas City, the Red Sox won't find room in the lineup for the righty-hitting Dalbec, who started each of the past 12 games at either third base or first base. Dalbec's path to playing time at the hot corner closed Tuesday when Rafael Devers was reinstated from the injured list, and Dalbec won't have a regular spot in the lineup at first base either with Eric Hosmer (neck) having been cleared to make his team debut Thursday after being acquired from the Padres earlier in the week. The lefty-hitting Hosmer also has a stronger track record against left-handed pitching at the big-league level than Franchy Cordero did prior to being demoted to Triple-A Worcester, so Dalbec may not even be in line for a short-side platoon role moving forward.

Calhoun isn't in the lineup Thursday against the White Sox, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Calhoun has hit just .135 with a double, two runs and two RBI over 13 games since the All-Star break, and he'll be on the bench for a second consecutive matchup. Bubba Thompson is starting in left field and batting ninth.

Raley is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The lefty-hitting Raley will take a seat against a right-hander (Drew Hutchison), marking the third time in four games he's been excluded from the lineup. Though Raley appeared poised to get regular playing time in the outfield when the Rays moved Josh Lowe and Brett Phillips off the active roster, the trade-deadline pickups of David Peralta and Jose Siri may result in Raley settling into more of a part-time role.

Pratto is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox.

Pratto is 2-for-24 with seven walks and 14 strikeouts over his past nine contests and will head to the bench Thursday. Michael Massey will enter the lineup in his place, with Hunter Dozier shifting to first base.

Abreu went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over the Royals.

Abreu launched a three-run blast in the third inning that scored Tim Anderson and Eloy Jimenez and put the White Sox up 4-0. It was his 14th home run of the year. The first baseman now has homers in back-to-back games and has nearly matched his total of three home runs in July. Abreu has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball since the start of June and is continuing to perform well, going 4-for-13 for a .308 average to begin August.
