  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Delivers run in loss

Dalbec went 1-for-4 with an RBI-triple and scored a run in Saturday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Rays.

A nine-inning pitchers' duel, which included nine no-hit innings by Tampa Bay pitching, turned wild in the 10th. Dalbec delivered the game's first run and scored on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning, but the Rays came back in the bottom half of the frame. Dalbec's slow start is like his 2021 season; he's 8-for-48 (.167) with one home run, two RBI and a .523 OPS through 13 games.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Produces five hits, homer

France went 5-for-6 with a home run, three runs and five RBI in a 13-7 win over the Royals on Saturday.

France tormented Kansas City pitching all game Saturday, with RBI singles in the first, second and seventh innings and a three-run home run in the eighth to blow the game open. After a modest first week of the season, the 27-year-old has gone 14-for-29 with three home runs and five multi-hit games over his last seven contests to bump his seasonal line to an impressive .356/.441/.610.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Drives in three

Mountcastle went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-4 win against the Angels.

Mountcastle singled home a run and stole second in the first inning and came up clutch in the seventh with a two-run single that got the score to it's eventual final. Don't expect more activity on the bases as the 25-year-old swiped only four bags in 144 games last season while the three RBI matched Mountcastle's total coming into Saturday.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Returns from injured list

Diaz (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Sunday. He'll start at first base and bat cleanup in the Rays' series finale with the Red Sox, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Diaz landed on the COVID-19 IL on Saturday but will rejoin the active roster after missing only one game. The 30-year is still in search of his first home run of 2022 and has a .275/.383/.325 slash line with two doubles, two RBI and five runs in 12 games.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Tallies first homer

Naylor went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two runs scored Saturday against the Yankees.

After grounding into a double play in his first plate appearance, Naylor took Nestor Cortes yard in the fifth frame for his first home run of the season. He later reached base again on a leadoff single to start the eighth inning and ultimately came around to score on a two-run homer by Austin Hedges. Naylor has played regularly since being activated from the injured list April 15, and he's now delivered five consecutive multi-hit games.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Swats second homer

Abreu went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 9-2 loss to the Twins.

He accounted for all of Chicago's offense with a solo shot in the sixth inning and an RBI groundout in the eighth. Abreu hasn't quite locked in his swing yet, slashing .208/.283/.396 through 13 games with two homers and six RBI, but his .242 BABIP is well below his normal level and figures to rise as the weather warms up.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Homers in big win Saturday

Torkelson went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and two runs scored in a win over the Rockies in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Torkelson connected for his third home run of the season in the first inning with two runners on, helping lead the Tigers to an easy 13-0 win. The rookie got off to a slow start but is starting to get going, and his OPS is up to .849 for the season. He should continue to post solid numbers as he gets more comfortable with MLB pitching.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Lands on injured list

Diaz was placed on the COVID-19-related injured list Saturday.

It appeared that Diaz was simply getting a day off Saturday, but that's not the case. Vidal Brujan was called up to take Diaz's place on the roster for the time being.

  • Kevin Padlo 1B | LAD

Mariners' Kevin Padlo: Loses 40-man spot

Padlo was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Saturday.

Padlo went 1-for-13 with nine strikeouts in his brief major-league debut last season. He's struggled in 15 games this season for Triple-A Tacoma, hitting .173/.317/.327 with a 36.5 percent strikeout rate.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Day off Saturday

Diaz will sit Saturday against Boston, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Diaz finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games. He's started the year hitting .275/.383/.325 through 12 games, a respectable line everywhere except the power department. Taylor Walls, who's hitting .292/.452/.417, will get the start at the hot corner again Saturday. Diaz could be at risk of his playing time slipping if the 25-year-old Walls continues to hit well, though he'll likely still have a role.
