Mariners' Ty France: Not starting Friday
France (arm) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.
France had X-rays come back negative after leaving Thursday's game with a left arm injury, but he'll be sidelined for at least one game. The 27-year-old was also scheduled to undergo an MRI, though the results aren't yet known. In the meantime, Dylan Moore will start at first base Friday for Seattle.

Jonathan Aranda 1B | TB
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Set for MLB debut
Aranda is starting at second base and will bat seventh in Friday's contest versus the Pirates, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Aranda is set to make his major-league debut Friday after being called up Tuesday. The 24-year-old will likely work in a reserve role for the time being, but due to his positional versatility, he could crack the lineup relatively often. He'll look to build upon the .310 average with 11 homers, 40 RBI, 45 runs and three stolen bases he produced over 63 games with Triple-A Durham this season.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Snaps hitless streak
Gurriel went 1-for-4 with a double Thursday against the Yankees.
Gurriel entered the game having gone hitless in his last four games and 14 at-bats. However, he snapped that stretch with a leadoff double in the eighth inning before being stranded. Gurriel is striking out only 14 percent of the time across 250 plate appearances this season, but he's still been able to muster just a .216/.268/.366 slash line.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Doubles twice Thursday
Mountcastle went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in Thursday's 4-0 win over the White Sox.
Mouncastle has hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games, going 23-for-66 (.348) with seven multi-hit efforts in that span. Even amid a strong season, this is an impressive extended surge of hitting for the 25-year-old. He's up to a .281/.316/.494 slash line with 12 home runs, 37 RBI, 31 runs scored, two stolen bases and 14 doubles in 59 contests overall. He should continue to be productive as he hits anywhere from second to fifth in the order in a near-everyday role.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Limited to first base
Vaughn is dealing with leg soreness that has limited him to playing first base and serving as the designated hitter for the last six games, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
The positive news is that Vaughn has remained in the lineup. The issue also hasn't slowed him at the plate, as he has three multi-hit games in his last six starts.

Ty France 1B | SD
Mariners' Ty France: X-rays negative
France (arm) underwent an X-ray following Thursday's game against the Athletics that came back negative, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Manager Scott Servais said Thursday that the team is "cautiously optimistic" about France's status following his early departure Thursday, but he'll undergo an MRI on Friday to help determine the severity of his injury. If France is forced to miss time, Kevin Padlo and Luis Torrens should see increased playing time at first base.

Mariners' Ty France: Exits with apparent left arm injury
France was removed from Thursday's game against the Athletics in the bottom of the fifth inning due to an apparent left arm injury, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
France's arm was run into while he was covering first base with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and he appeared to be in considerable pain while remaining down for several minutes following the collision. He went 0-for-2 prior to his departure, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available to begin the Mariners' weekend series against the Angels.
