    Rizzo went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Red Sox.

    Returning to the lineup for the first time since Aug. 7 following his recovery from a positive COVID-19 test, Rizzo came up big for the Yankees in his second at-bat of the contest. With two outs and runners on first and second, Rizzo scorched a line drive off the glove of Bobby Dalbec that scored both runners and gave the Yankees a 4-1 lead. He's now driven in eight runs through his first 10 games with the Yankees, and run-producing and run-scoring opportunities figure to remain plentiful for Rizzo while he occupies the No. 2 spot in a potent lineup.

    Mariners' Kevin Padlo: Claimed by Mariners

    Padlo was claimed off waivers by the Mariners on Thursday.

    Padlo has spent most of the season at Triple-A Durham and was designated for assignment by Tampa Bay on Tuesday. He's slashed .194/.270/.379 with 12 homers, 40 runs, 37 RBI and five stolen bases in 69 minor-league games this year and will now report to Triple-A Tacoma.

    Rays' Yandy Diaz: Sits again Thursday

    Diaz will remain on the bench for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

    Diaz sits for the second game in a row and the fifth time in five games. He's hit just .176/.237/.382 thus far in the month of August. Ji-Man Choi and Joey Wendle will start at the infield corners in his absence.

Mountcastle has gone 2-for-7 with a home run and a double in two games since returning from a concussion. He's picked up right where he left off and now has a 10-game hitting streak during which he's gone 16-for-36 (.444) with four homers, four doubles, nine RBI and seven runs scored.
