Rizzo is not starting Friday agains the Twins.

Rizzo is 1-for-7 with three RBI in two games since returning from the COVID-19 IL. He'll yield first base duties to Luke Voit to start Friday's contest but should be a top option off the New York bench.

France went 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Rangers.

France took Joe Barlow yard in the 11th inning to provide the winning runs for the Mariners. It was his 13th home run of the season and third across 17 games in August. France is hitting .338 in that span, while also driving in 10 and scoring nine runs. On the campaign, France is hitting .286/.357/.443 across 474 plate appearances.

Olson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk Thursday against the White Sox.

Olson took Michael Kopech yard in the seventh inning to record his 31st homer of the season. He now has three home runs in his last seven starts, also collecting five RBI and four runs scored in that span. Olson should surpass his current career-high mark of 36 home runs in a season, and he's additionally maintained a .279/.376/.567 line across 497 plate appearances on the campaign.

Vaughn went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and two walks Thursday against the Athletics.

Vaughn took Cole Irvin yard in the fifth inning to record his 15th home run of the season. Across 14 games in August, Vaughn now has four home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs scored. Rizzo went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Red Sox.

Returning to the lineup for the first time since Aug. 7 following his recovery from a positive COVID-19 test, Rizzo came up big for the Yankees in his second at-bat of the contest. With two outs and runners on first and second, Rizzo scorched a line drive off the glove of Bobby Dalbec that scored both runners and gave the Yankees a 4-1 lead. He's now driven in eight runs through his first 10 games with the Yankees, and run-producing and run-scoring opportunities figure to remain plentiful for Rizzo while he occupies the No. 2 spot in a potent lineup.

Padlo was claimed off waivers by the Mariners on Thursday.

Padlo has spent most of the season at Triple-A Durham and was designated for assignment by Tampa Bay on Tuesday. He's slashed .194/.270/.379 with 12 homers, 40 runs, 37 RBI and five stolen bases in 69 minor-league games this year and will now report to Triple-A Tacoma.

Diaz will remain on the bench for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Diaz sits for the second game in a row and the fifth time in five games. He's hit just .176/.237/.382 thus far in the month of August. Ji-Man Choi and Joey Wendle will start at the infield corners in his absence.

Mountcastle went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay.

The first baseman tried to help Baltimore's cause with his eighth-inning blast, but it was the team's last run in the contest. Mountcastle has gone 2-for-7 with a home run and a double in two games since returning from a concussion. He's picked up right where he left off and now has a 10-game hitting streak during which he's gone 16-for-36 (.444) with four homers, four doubles, nine RBI and seven runs scored.

Lowe isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Lowe will get a chance to reset after he went 0-for-8 with two strikeouts across the last two games. Charlie Culberson will start at first base and bat sixth.

Vaughn isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Vaughn went 3-for-12 with a homer, three RBI and two runs across the last three games, and he'll get a breather Wednesday. Eloy Jimenez will serve as the designated hitter while Jake Lamb starts in left field.
