Indians' Josh Naylor: Transferred to 60-day IL

Naylor (ankle) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Naylor was carted off the field after taking a gruesome hit to his lower body during a collision June 27, and he later underwent surgery to repair multiple fibula fractures and ligament tears. The 24-year-old won't return during the 2021 season, but the team isn't yet sure whether he could be ready for spring training next year, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Yankees' Luke Voit: Records five hits in win

Voit went 5-for-6 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 12-1 win over the Mariners.

Voit anchored a 12-run, 18-hit offensive display Tuesday night with a career-high five hits, including a two-run single in the second inning and an RBI single in the third. The 30-year-old has started off a bit slow since his return from the injured list in late June; however, he's building up some momentum heading into the All-Star break after hitting safely in each of his last three contests. For the year, Voit's slashing .237/.302/.381 with three homers, 10 RBI, 12 runs scored and a 7:31 BB:K over 106 plate appearances.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Slugs fourth homer

Diaz went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a win over Cleveland on Monday.

Diaz uncorked his fourth homer of the season in the seventh inning to bring the Rays within a run. The 29-year-old didn't notch his first round tripper of the season until June 6, but he's made up for lost time since that point and is now just 10 RBI shy of the career-high 38 he recorded in 2019.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Shaking off slump

Abreu went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 8-5 loss to Minnesota.

Abreu swatted his 15th homer in the sixth inning to put the White Sox on the board. It was the second home run in as many games for the slugging first baseman and third in the last six. June was not kind to Abreu, who batted .182 with eight RBI during the month, but he's matched that RBI total in just five July games (9-for-23, .391).

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Big day at plate

Abreu went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-5 loss to Detroit.

The first baseman got Chicago on the board with an RBI single in the third inning before scoring on a Leury Garcia sacrifice fly. In the ninth, Abreu made things interesting with a three-run homer, but that left Chicago a run short in the loss. The 34-year-old went 5-for-14 with five RBI and four runs scored in this weekend's three-game series in Detroit. He's fighting out of a fallow period, having entered Saturday's contest batting .147 with two RBI over the previous 10 games. Despite the slump, Abreu remains the team's RBI leader with 57 in 76 games.
