Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Nursing sore wrist

Kirilloff is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Rangers due to wrist soreness, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old was originally slated to start Tuesday, but he was scratched due to the wrist issue. Kirilloff should be considered day-to-day while he continues to be evaluated.

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Kirilloff is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Rangers.

He is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, hitting .321 with four home runs over that stretch. However, his 33.3 percent strikeout rate and 3.3 percent walk rate over this hot streak are worth keeping an eye on. Willians Astudillo will start at first base and hit eighth.

  • Evan White 1B | LAA

    Mariners' Evan White: Activated Tuesday

White was reinstated from the bereavement list Tuesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

He missed a few games to attend to a personal matter. White is hitting .108 with zero home runs and a 3:11 BB:K over his last 10 games.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Yankees' Luke Voit: Could return next week

Voit (knee) could return in the middle of next week, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

He is embarking on a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Per manager Aaron Boone, Voit is expected to play in 5-to-6 games over the next 7-to-8 days, which would take us to Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. If all goes well, he could return to the Yankees lineup toward the end of next week's series in Tampa Bay that runs from May 11 through May 13.

Yankees' Luke Voit: Rehab moves to Triple-A

Voit (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

It was reported last week that Voit would be rehabbing with Double-A Somerset, but he'll instead head to Triple-A for the minor-league opener. He's been taking live at-bats at the alternate site, so while it's unclear exactly how long Voit's rehab assignment will be, he could rejoin the Yankees in the near future if he avoids any setbacks.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: On base four times in win

Diaz went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and a walk in a win over the Angels on Monday.

Teammates Willy Adames and Manuel Margot provided the biggest blasts of the night, but Diaz was productive with some "small ball" contributions. The 29-year-old's seventh multi-hit effort of the season snapped a brief 1-for-10 funk that had encompassed his prior four games.

  • Nate Lowe 1B | CIN

Rangers' Nate Lowe: Shows off wheels

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Twins.

Lowe's not known for his speed, but he's now stolen bases in back-to-back games and is up to four thefts in 2021. He had one steal in the majors prior to this season and four across four minor-league seasons.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Indians' Josh Naylor: Clubs first homer

Naylor went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run and three RBI in Monday's 8-6 win over the Royals.

His two-run blast off Jakob Junis in the seventh inning proved to be the key hit in the game, giving Cleveland an 8-3 lead. It was Naylor's first homer of the year, but the 23-year-old seems to be finding his rhythm at the plate, going 8-for-22 over the last six games with four doubles in addition to Monday's long ball.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Collects three hits

Guerrero went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss to Oakland.

Guerrero knocked a double and came around to score in the eighth to pull Toronto within a run of the Athletics. He raised his season slash line to .356/.496/.644 with 12 extra-base hits through 115 plate appearances. It was his fourth straight game scoring a run.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Will play third in minors

Torkelson is set to play "a lot of third base" according to his manager at High-A West Michigan, Patrick Nothaft of MLive.com reports.

Torkelson primarily played first base during his college career at Arizona State, but the Tigers got him some time at third during spring training, and now it looks like that's the plan for him in the minors. The 2020 No. 1 overall pick will largely be judged by his bat during his professional career, but he'll of course need to hold his own defensively as well. If Torkelson shows some ability at both corner infield spots, it could ultimately help him advance to the majors sooner, though he's still most likely to debut in 2022.
