Mountcastle went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Red Sox.

Mountcastle had little trouble getting on base Friday, and he blasted his second home run of the season to lead off the sixth inning. In his last five games, Mountcastle has gone 6-for-19 with a solo home run, a double and three runs.

Dalbec went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, a second run scored and a walk in Friday's 6-2 win over the Orioles.

Dalbec had gone hitless with 11 strikeouts in his last 25 at-bats, but he broke the game open with a three-run shot with two outs in the fourth inning Friday. The 25-year-old is now hitting .191 with two home runs, nine RBI and five runs this year.

Gurriel went 4-for-4 with a homer, four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-4 win over the Blue Jays.

Gurriel launched a two-run shot in the fifth inning and later drove in runs in the seventh and eighth to extend Houston's lead. It was his first homer since April 25, giving him five on the season with 24 RBI. The 36-year-old is slashing .342/.420/.553 through 131 plate appearances.

Kirilloff (wrist) received a cortisone injection following a visit with a specialist Friday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Manager Rocco Baldelli said that Kirilloff received a "pretty specific diagnosis" from the specialist, though exactly what that diagnosis is remains unclear. Kiriloff's return timeline should become clearer once the Twins see whether or not the shot has the desired effect.

Tellez was called up to the big-league roster Friday. He is starting at designated hitter and batting fifth against the Astros.

The first baseman and designated hitter takes the roster spot of Joe Panik (calf), who was placed on the injured list. Tellez was on the roster from Opening Day until April 27 and contributed little offensively, but he did have one five-game stretch with eight hits. He hit .300 with one home run, three walks and three strikeouts in three games with Triple-A Buffalo.

O'Hearn is not in the lineup Friday against the White Sox.

O'Hearn will head to the bench Friday with lefty Carlos Rodon starting for Chicago. Jorge Soler will serve as the designated hitter while Hunter Dozier moves to right field for Kansas City.

White is 0-for-7 with four strikeouts in the two games since his return from a four-day stay on the bereavement list.

In other words, getting away from baseball for a handful of days did nothing to end White's struggles. The 25-year-old had gone 0-for-16 in the four games prior to his brief sabbatical, and he's now up to a 29.8 percent strikeout rate across 84 plate appearances.

France is hitting .032 (1-for-31) with five walks, one hit-by-pitch and two runs over his last nine games.

The abysmal stretch has lowered France's season average from .325 to .246, and although his on-base percentage still sits at an impressive .351 thanks in large part to the walks, his slugging percentage has also seen a 135-point drop to .395. France has struck out at a 24.1 percent clip during that span, but the instances in which he's actually made contact that have been just as much a culprit -- the 26-year-old sports just a 4.5 percent line-drive rate and 18.2 percent hard-contact rate in the sample.

Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a double, an intentional walk, two runs and two RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Athletics.

Guerrero has now reached base 60 times on the season, tops among all players in baseball. With a .347 average, seven home runs, 22 RBI, 21 runs and one stolen base through 29 games, the 22-year-old has paid major dividends for those that invested an early round pick into him on draft day.

Naylor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 win over Kansas City.

Naylor reached on an error in the fifth inning and eventually got to third base on his first stolen base of the season. He picked up an RBI with a groundout in the sixth inning, then followed up with a solo shot in the ninth. Naylor has gone 11-for-30 (.367) with two homers, six RBI and six runs scored in his last eight games. He's slashing .272/.309/.435 through 97 plate appearances this season. As long as he continues to play well, manager Terry Francona will likely find a spot for his bat in the lineup.
