  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Guardians' Carlos Santana: Good to go Tuesday

Santana (leg) is starting at first base and batting fifth Tuesday versus the Dodgers.

The veteran first baseman sat out the past two games due to left leg tightness but will rejoin the starting nine Tuesday against Los Angeles righty Dustin May. Santana is in the midst of a modest six-game hit streak, and he's gone 8-for-21 with five walks, two doubles, two homers, six RBI and six runs during that span.

  • Nick Kurtz 1B | ATH

Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Lands on injured list

The Athletics placed Kurtz on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to May 25, due to a strained left hip flexor.

The 22-year-old suffered the injury during Saturday's game against the Angels and will spend at least the next week on the shelf. Logan Davidson was called up by the A's late last week and could see more action at first base while Kurtz is sidelined.

  • Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Slugs seventh homer

Aranda went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-2 victory against the Twins.

Aranda ended what had been a scoreless tie with his three-run shot off reliever Brock Stewart in the sixth inning. The long ball gave the first baseman seven on the campaign, establishing a new career-high mark. Not coincidentally, Aranda has also already played in an MLB career-high 48 games, as he's managed to stay healthy while establishing a stranglehold on first-base duties for Tampa Bay. He's been able to earn a spot in the heart of the Rays' lineup with a .302/.381/.491 slash line on the campaign.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Piling up knocks during hit streak

Pasquantino went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Reds.

Pasquantino continues to pile up hits, now riding a 10-game hitting streak and collecting 17 knocks during this span. It's been an extended hot streak at the plate for the 27-year-old first baseman, as he's now batting .346 (36-for-104) with five homers, three doubles, 14 RBI and 13 runs scored over his last 25 outings. The lefty-hitting Pasquantino now owns four three-hit efforts this season, and he should continue to see plenty of RBI chances as long as he's primarily batting third for the Royals.

  • Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt: Sitting Monday

Goldschmidt is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Angels on Monday.

Ben Rice will start at first base and bat in the leadoff spot in Monday's series opener. Goldschmidt went 7-for-17 with one steal and two RBI over his last four games, and since the beginning of May he has slashed .329/.393/.513 with three steals, three home runs and 14 RBI in 85 plate appearances.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Guardians' Carlos Santana: Out of lineup Monday

Santana (leg) isn't part of the starting nine for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Santana was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to left leg tightness, and his removal was deemed precautionary. The Guardians have opted to withhold Santana from the lineup again Monday, allowing for Kyle Manzardo to draw the start at first base while Lane Thomas starts at DH.

  • Blaine Crim 1B | COL

    Rangers' Blaine Crim: Called up

The Rangers recalled Crim from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Crim will join the Rangers for his second big-league stint after going hitless in 11 at-bats at the start of May. He'll likely mix in at first base behind Jake Burger and at DH after Joc Pederson (hand) was placed on the injured list. In 180 plate appearances at Triple-A in 2025, Crim slashed .294/.361/.544 with 10 home runs.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: On fire at Triple-A

Caglianone has gone 9-for-26 (.346) with five home runs, 10 RBI and five runs scored in six games since being promoted to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Caglianone moved up to Omaha after slashing .316/.385/.546 in 175 plate appearances at Double-A Northwest Arkansas to begin the season, and he hasn't skipped a beat at the next level. The 22-year-old looks to be on the fast track to making his MLB debut, and he's notably made three of his starts with Omaha so far in the corner outfield. Though first base might end up being Caglianone's long-term home in the majors, left field, right field and the designated-hitter spot represent his most logical avenues for playing time with Kansas City in 2025.

  • Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS

Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Nearing rehab assignment

Gonzalez (quadriceps) appears to be close to beginning a rehab assignment, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Gonzalez experienced a setback last week that delayed his rehab, but manager Alex Cora said Sunday the infielder is feeling better and is awaiting word from the medical team to determine his next step. Prior to his injury, Gonzalez had been part of a rotation of players at first base, covering for the injured Triston Casas (knee). The Red Sox have been leaning on Nick Sogard and Abraham Toro at the position since Gonzalez landed on the shelf with a left quad contusion.

  • Curtis Mead 3B | WAS

Rays' Curtis Mead: Homers in three straight games

Mead hit a two-run home run in his only plate appearance Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Mead has seen increased playing time across the last week, though that was only because the Rays faced three lefties. He's started just four games against right-handed pitching all season, limiting his fantasy appeal despite the fact that he has a home run in each of his last three games -- two of which were starts.
