Black is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rangers.

After starting each of the first four games upon being called up from Triple-A Nashville last Wednesday, Black has now been out of the lineup for three straight contests, with two of them coming against right-handed pitching. Jake Bauers will garner a second straight start at first base.

Tellez went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Reds.

The burly first baseman stole the fourth bag of his career, and his first since 2022, in the first inning as the Pirates grabbed an early 3-0 lead. Tellez has been enjoying his strong-side platoon role in June -- through 59 plate appearances this month, he's slashing .352/.407/.500 with five doubles, a homer, six runs and 11 RBI.

Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Astros.

Toglia was hitless in his first three at-bats but saved his stat line in the ninth inning by taking Josh Hader yard on a solo homer. The first baseman has homered on back-to-back nights and has belted four long balls in his last 10 games, batting 10-for-39 (.256) with nine runs and nine RBI during that stretch.

Harper went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-1 loss to the Tigers on Tuesday.

Harper provided the only offense for the Phillies, hitting a solo home run off Jason Foley in the ninth inning. It was the slugger's second consecutive day with a home run, and he has now gone a ridiculous 20-for-43 with five homers, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored over a current 10-game hitting streak. On the season, he is hitting .306 with 20 home runs, 57 RBI and 52 runs scored through 278 at-bats.

Flores isn't in the Giants' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Flores will take a seat Tuesday after going 0-for-4 with an RBI and a walk during Monday's victory. David Villar will take over at first base and bat eighth.

Black isn't in the Brewers' lineup Tuesday against the Rangers.

The lefty-hitting Black will take a seat Tuesday as the Rangers prepare to send left-hander Andrew Heaney to the mound. Rhys Hoskins will start at first base while Gary Sanchez works as Milwaukee's designated hitter.

Encarnacion-Strand will undergo surgery on his right wrist July 11, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

The recovery is expected to take three months, effectively ending Encarnacion-Strand's 2024 season. He initially went on the injured list back in early May with a right ulnar styloid fracture, but subsequent testing revealed ligament damage, which he'll need surgery to address. Encarnacion-Strand's season will conclude with him having slashed only .190/.220/.293 with two home runs in 29 games.

Montero is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Houston.

Montero is out of the lineup for a fourth straight game, though he did make one pinch-hitting appearance over that stretch. The recent emergence of Michael Toglia and Hunter Goodman has put the squeeze on Montero's playing time, and his .581 OPS on the season hasn't helped, either.

Hoskins went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in a 6-3 win against Texas on Monday.

The Brewers were down 3-1 in the sixth inning when Hoskins turned the game around with his grand slam to left field. The big blast snapped a 15-game homerless drought for the slugger, during which he batted just .170 with 22 strikeouts over 53 at-bats. Hoskins' .739 OPS on the season is on pace for a career-worst mark, though he ranks second on Milwaukee with 11 home runs.

Meneses went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

All three of Meneses' hits drove in a run to erase the Padres' early 3-0 lead. He's been hitting well lately, going 15-for-46 (.326) with 10 RBI and five extra-base hits over his last 13 games. Meneses is at a .246/.302/.327 slash line for the year while adding three home runs, two stolen bases, 40 RBI and 18 runs scored over 275 plate appearances. He had a slow start in 2023 as well, but he'd need a big second half to get up to his level from last year (.275/.321/.401).
