  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Reaches base four times Monday

Freeman went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs in Monday's 13-4 victory over Colorado.

Freeman was one of four Dodgers with multiple hits in the win, and he's racked up six base knocks over his past 10 at-bats. Freeman is hitting a robust .421 this season, though his fifth-inning double Monday is his only extra-base hit thus far. The star first baseman has also scored four runs over four games after tying for the NL lead with 117 runs scored last season.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Knocks homer in loss

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 8-4 loss to Atlanta.

Goldschmidt's seventh-inning blast was the only one of the Cardinals' 12 hits to go for extra bases. The first baseman is off to an excellent start this season, recording two hits in each of the first four games. He's added two RBI, three runs scored, a stolen base and a 3:2 BB:K while occupying his usual No. 3 spot in the order.

  • Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Gets breather Monday

Montero is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

With Mike Moustakas drawing the nod at third base Monday, Montero will sit after he had manned the position in each of the Rockies' first four games of the 2023 season. Montero recorded four hits -- including a home run -- across his 16 at-bats in the Rockies' season-opening series in San Diego, but he struck out eight times.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Sits in third straight

Flores is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Now on the bench for a third straight matchup against a right-handed pitcher with Chicago bringing Michael Kopech to the hill, Flores looks like he's being viewed as a short-side platoon player in the infield. LaMonte Wade and David Villar should continue to occupy the corner-infield spots for the Giants more often than not.

  • Darick Hall 1B | PIT

Phillies' Darick Hall: Sitting versus lefty

Hall is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Hall started at first base in the first two games of the season and went 2-for-7 with a double, a walk and a run scored, but he'll head to the bench Sunday with southpaw Martin Perez pitching for Texas. Alec Bohm will slide over to first base while Edmundo Sosa starts at the hot corner.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: On bench Sunday

Flores is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Flores went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the season opener but will sit Sunday for the second consecutive game. David Villar will receive another start at the hot corner while J.D. Davis mans first base.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Heads to bench Sunday

Cooper is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Mets, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cooper went 5-for-13 with a home run, a triple and two RBI through the first three games of the season, but he'll take a seat for Sunday's series finale. Yuli Gurriel will step in at first base and bat fifth.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: On base three times in win

Wade went 1-for-3 with two walks, one RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Yankees.

Wade has started at first base and hit leadoff in both of the Giants' games so far. Since they've faced two right-handed starters, the usage isn't surprising -- Wade is widely expected to handle the strong side of a platoon at first this season. He's gone 1-for-6 with three walks over two games so far. Fantasy managers probably shouldn't read into the steal too much, as he swiped just six bags in his 109-game breakout campaign in 2021, though he may be incentivized to run more if he remains in the leadoff spot.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Belts first long ball

Walker went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Dodgers.

The Diamondbacks didn't have much success against Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw on Saturday, but Walker continued his dominance of the future Hall of Famer with a pair of hits, including a solo homer to left field in the second inning. The long ball was the fifth of his career against Kershaw in just 31 at-bats, but it didn't make much of an impact on the game, as Los Angeles rolled to a 10-1 victory. Walker has gone 4-for-10 with two RBI through his first three games of the campaign.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Connects on third homer of season

Cron went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Saturday's loss to the Padres.

Cron continues his hot weekend as he clobbered a two-run homer off Michael Wacha to bring the Rockies within a run at 5-4 in the sixth. That's already Cron's third homer of the season, and he's driven in seven runs over the first three games. It's a great start for Cron that's nice to see after his struggles to end the 2022 campaign.
