  • Luke Raley RF | SEA

Dodgers' Luke Raley: Slugs two homers at Triple-A

Raley went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and four total RBI for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.

Previous reports erroneously stated that Raley was placed on the 60-day IL in early September. The outfielder appears to have instead been shifted to -- and since returned from -- the COVID-19-related injured list. Raley's pair of long balls Friday pushed his season total in the minors to 15, which he has complemented with a .306/.408/.590 slash line and 58 RBI over 262 plate appearances. However, the outfielder was less successful in a 30-game stint with the Dodgers earlier in the campaign, batting just .169 with one homer across 59 at-bats.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Short side of platoon

Walker is not in Saturday's lineup against the Mariners.

He is hitting .125 in 16 at-bats this month and it seems he has fallen into the short side of a platoon. Pavin Smith will start at first base while Seth Beer starts at designated hitter.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Kole Calhoun: Plays in intrasquad game

Calhoun (hamstring) was cleared to play in an intrasquad game Sept. 3, but the outfielder has yet to complete a running program, MLB.com reports.

Calhoun is taking live at-bats and participating in outfield drills, but until he's able to run the bases at 100 percent, the Diamondbacks likely won't identify a target date for his return from the 10-day injured list. The 33-year-old has been sidelined since Aug. 11 with the strained left hamstring.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Returning Sunday

Flores (hamstring) is expected to be in Sunday's lineup against the Cubs, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

He has been out since Sept. 1 with a strained left hamstring. Brandon Belt, Evan Longoria and Tommy La Stella are all healthy, so there probably won't be everyday at-bats available for Flores down the stretch.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Out with broken finger

Cronenworth has a small fracture on his left ring finger, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

He left Friday's game against the Dodgers after getting hit on the hand by a changeup from Julio Urias in the top of the third inning. Manager Jayce Tingler was unsure how long Cronenworth would be sidelined. "It's just tough to say right now until you get the inflammation out," Tingler said. "A very small fracture there. But what we don't know is what it's going to be like swinging the bat and what that vibration feels like on the finger. It's just too early to say right now." The Padres may move Fernando Tatis back to shortstop while Cronenworth is out.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Reaches 30-homer mark

Votto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 4-2 win over St. Louis.

The veteran first baseman took John Lester deep in the fourth inning for his second long ball in as many games and his 30th overall this season. This marks the first time that Votto has swatted 30 homers since the 2017 campaign, when he went deep 36 times in 162 games. He appears to be breaking out of a slump that saw him hit a meager .174 with no homers and only four RBI across 46 at-bats between Aug. 21 and Sept. 7.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Smacks 27th homer

Cron went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 11-2 win over Philadelphia.

The first baseman hit a solo shot in the seventh inning and sparked a five-run rally in the ninth with an RBI single before he scored on Elias Diaz's grand slam. Cron has taken a step back from his remarkable August, going just 8-for-34 (.235) since the calendar flipped to September. He's at a .274/.373/.539 slash line with 27 long balls, 82 RBI, 60 runs scored and a stolen base through 469 plate appearances overall.

  • Matt Beaty 1B | KC

Dodgers' Matt Beaty: Recalled by Dodgers

Beaty was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Beaty was sent to the minors in late August, and he hit .357 with three doubles, five runs and four RBI across nine games following his demotion. He'll take on a depth role in the majors after Billy McKinney (hip) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday.

  • Drew Ellis 1B | PHI

Diamondbacks' Drew Ellis: Optioned to Triple-A

Ellis was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Ellis has done very little with his 83 major-league plate appearances this season, hitting .130/.277/.203. He'll head to the minors as the Diamondbacks clear a spot for Seth Beer.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Giants' Donovan Solano: Nearing rehab assignment

Solano (illness) is expected to begin a rehab assignment over the weekend, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Solano has been out since testing positive for COVID-19 in late August. Previous reports indicated he could return to the active roster by the end of the weekend, but it looks as though the Giants would rather see him get into a few minor-league games first. Given that he's only been out for just over two weeks, he shouldn't need a lengthy rehab assignment, meaning he should be back on the active roster sometime early next week.
