  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Yankees' Luke Voit: No spot in NL park

Voit will sit for Monday's game in Atlanta.

Voit has been on an incredible tear over his last seven games, hitting .500 with three homers and 13 RBI. The Yankees had been finding room for both him and Anthony Rizzo in the lineup recently, with Voit moving to designated hitter in two of the team's last three games, pushing Giancarlo Stanton to the outfield, but that won't be an option under National League rules. The Yankees are set to face righties (Huascar Ynoa and Charlie Morton) in both games of the two-game series, so it could be the left-handed Rizzo in the lineup on both occasions.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Royals' Carlos Santana: Three-hit effort in win

Santana went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Cubs.

The first baseman has recorded just two multi-hit efforts in 20 games in August, and he's drawn just eight walks in that span for a .274 on-base percentage. It's clear Santana is in a slump, which has lowered his season slash line to .226/.335/.373 with 17 home runs (none since July 24), 59 RBI, 59 runs scored and two stolen bases. Despite the slump, he's been in the starting nine on a nearly daily basis, as Ryan O'Hearn hasn't done enough to challenge for more playing time at first base.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Ends homer drought

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and an additional run scored in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

The star slugger is seeing the ball well of late, but he was riding a homer drought that extended for 13 games before he went deep in this one with a solo shot in the fifth inning off reliever Kyle Keller. Goldschmidt's hitting streak has reached 11 games and has recorded multi-hit contests in all but one of his last seven contests, so he continues to be one of the most dangerous bats in the National League. He's slashing .355/.402/.526 through 84 plate appearances in August.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Supplies solo shot in win

Walker went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.

Walker extended his hitting streak to five games when he took Robert Stephenson deep in the top of the seventh inning to give Arizona a 6-1 lead. The 42-83 Diamondbacks could grant Walker more frequent days off in September to evaluate younger options, but the 30-year-old still looks to be the club's top option at first base.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Giants' Donovan Solano: Blasts game-winning home run

Solano went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Padres.

Solano entered in the eighth inning to pinch hit for Lamonte Wade. He hit the game-winning two-run homer off A.J. Puk to put the Giants ahead. Solano has recently been limited to starting against southpaws. As a result, he has totaled just four hits since Aug. 5. The 33-year-old is slashing .277/.335/.396 with six long balls, 30 RBI, 31 runs and a pair of steals in 317 plate appearances.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Homers twice in return

Hoskins went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Hoskins blasted a solo shot off Ryan Weathers in the fourth inning and another off Miguel Diaz in the fifth inning. It was a big showing for the first baseman in his first game back from the 10-day injured list. He has homered twice in four different games this season. The 28-year-old is slashing .247/.336/.526 with 26 long balls, 70 RBI, 63 runs and three steals in 438 plate appearances.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Clocks 15th homer

France went 2-for-5 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBI in Sunday's 6-3 win over Houston.

France saved his two hits for when Seattle needed them most; he knocked a game-tying, solo shot off Ryan Pressly in the ninth inning and later hit an RBI single before scoring again in the 11th. Over his last four games, the 27-year-old utilityman has gone 9-for-17 (.529) with three homers and six RBI. France is slashing .292/.362/.462 with 42 extra-base hits through 486 plate appearances.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Mets' Dominic Smith: Sitting against lefty

Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

With lefty David Price on the hill for the Dodgers, Mets manager Luis Rojas will give three of the team's lefty-hitting regulars -- Smith, Jeff McNeil and Michael Conforto -- the day off. Brandon Drury will step in for Smith in left field.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Crushes clutch homer

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Phillies.

The Padres were dominated by opposing starter Aaron Nola for most of the game, failing to produce a baserunner for the first six innings. Cronenworth turned what looked to be another bleak outcome around with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, however, blasting a game-tying two-run shot to center field. He has three long balls across his past six games and is batting .318 with six RBI and four walks over that span.

  • Ryan O'Hearn RF | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Takes seat Sunday

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

The lefty-hitting O'Hearn will be squeezed out of the lineup against a right-hander (Alec Mills), mostly as a result of no designated hitter being available in Chicago. Hunter Dozier will pick up a start in right field, the position O'Hearn manned in the first two games of the series.
