Jake Burger 3B | TEX
Rangers' Jake Burger: Hits IL
The Rangers placed Burger on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a strained left oblique.
Burger was removed from Friday's game with tightness in his left side, and further testing showed he suffered a strained left oblique. The Rangers recalled Justin Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. Burger is slashing .220/.253/.403 with 10 home runs in 249 plate appearances this season.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt: Getting rest Saturday
Goldschmidt isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Baltimore.
Goldschmidt will take a day to regroup after going 2-for-18 over his last five games. Ben Rice will pick up a start at first base while batting leadoff.

Alec Burleson LF | STL
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Settling into everyday role
Burleson has made 13 straight starts for the Cardinals, including three straight against left-handed pitching.
The left-handed-hitting Burleson's first start this season against a traditional left-handed starter didn't come until May 31. However, he has started five of seven games versus lefties since that date and is slashing .381/.409/.571 against southpaws during that stretch. Burleson is batting .346/.379/.569 overall with seven homers since May 1, and he has hit third in five of the Cardinals' last six contests. A career .572 OPS against lefties suggests Burleson could be due for some regression in that area, but he should continue to play every day for the time being, especially while Ivan Herrera (hamstring) is shelved.

Spencer Torkelson 1B | DET
Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Resting Saturday
Torkelson isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays.
Torkelson will get a day to clear his head Saturday after going 0-for-12 across his last three games. While he sits, Colt Keith will start at first base for Detroit while Kerry Carpenter works as the DH and Wenceel Perez starts in right field.

Curtis Mead 3B | CHW
Rays' Curtis Mead: Rare start against righty
Mead went 2-for-2 with three walks, three runs and an RBI in Friday's 14-8 win over the Tigers.
Mead made just his seventh start against a right-handed pitcher for the season, filling in at third base Friday for Junior Caminero. He took advantage of the opportunity by reaching base in every plate appearance while scoring multiple runs in a game for the second time on the campaign. Mead is hitting a solid .250/.336/.385 across 110 plate appearances this season, but his playing time is too sporadic to make him useful outside of AL-only leagues.

Tyler Soderstrom C | ATH
Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Logs fifth steal
Soderstrom went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 5-1 win over the Guardians.
Prior to Friday, Soderstrom had gone just 4-for-31 (.129) with five walks and six strikeouts over a nine-game span since his previous multi-hit effort. He's up to five steals this season, three of which have come in June, but he's not expected to be a big source of speed. The 23-year-old is batting .249 with a .776 OPS, 14 home runs, 45 RBI, 41 runs scored, 11 doubles and a triple over 77 contests this season. With Nick Kurtz having retaken a starting role at first base after a stint on the injured list due to a hip issue, Soderstrom has settled in as the Athletics' starting left fielder once again.

Nick Kurtz 1B | ATH
Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Keeps power surge going
Kurtz went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 5-1 win over the Guardians.
Kurtz took a break from his recent stretch of late homers, instead delivering a first-inning blast Friday. He's gone deep five times during his six-game hitting streak, accounting for half of his 10 long balls on the year. The first baseman has added a .252/.307/.526 slash line, 25 RBI and 18 runs scored over his first 150 plate appearances in the majors.

Jake Burger 3B | TEX
Rangers' Jake Burger: Removed with side tightness
Burger was removed from Friday's game against the Pirates with left side tightness, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Burger seemed to grab at his left side after striking out in the seventh inning of Friday's contest, and he was replaced at first base when the Rangers took the field to play defense. The Rangers haven't yet provided details on the severity of his injury, but fantasy managers can consider him day-to-day for the time being.

Dominic Smith 1B | SF
Giants' Dominic Smith: Not in Friday's lineup
Smith is not in San Francisco's starting lineup against Boston on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Smith will take a seat after going 1-for-10 with one RBI and four strikeouts during the Giants' three-game home series against the Guardians earlier this week. Wilmer Flores will start at first base and bat in the cleanup spot.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Not starting Friday
Freeman isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
An 0-for-3 performance Thursday broke up Freeman's modest four-game hitting streak, and he'll now grab a seat on the bench while Enrique Hernandez starts at first base during Friday's series opener.
