The Athletics recalled Olson from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The A's designated Stephen Vogt for assignment and put Matt Chapman (knee) on the disabled list. Olson, who has smashed 17 home runs while hitting .217/.365/.561 in 249 plate appearances, could find some work at outfield and designated hitter, with a dash of first base. He should at least minimally help AL-only and some mixed-league fantasy players for however long he has this window.

Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and two RBI in Wednesday's 16-5 win over the Rockies.

It was yet another stellar performance from Goldschmidt, who delivered his third multi-hit effort in four games, yet he was somehow overshadowed by teammates Brandon Drury (4-for-6, six RBI) and David Peralta (4-for-5, four runs) on a night where the Diamondbacks attack was firing on all cylinders. That's been a more common theme this season than in years past, but if anything, it elevates Goldschmidt's fantasy ceiling. Thanks to the capable bats behind him, he'll likely continue to pile up runs even when he's not roping doubles and blasting home runs. He's currently on pace to score 144 runs over 162 games, which would shatter last season's career-best mark of 106.

Bell went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Brewers.

The 24-year-old is now chasing history, as his 13 homers leave him just two shy of Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner's franchise rookie record for home runs in the first half. Bell's .235 batting average is a disappointment considering he routinely challenged or broke the .300 mark in the minors, but as his game continues to develop the switch hitter could emerge as a legitimate four-category fantasy producer.

Blandino was called to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The middle infielder will get a chance at the next level after batting .259/.374/.462 with six home runs and 31 RBI with Double-A Pensacola thus far in 2017. Although Blandino still has a decent way to go before challenging to earn time with the big-league club, this will mark another key step for the 24-year-old after spending all of 2016 at Double-A.

Freeman (wrist) is expected to resume hitting Friday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

This progression is dependent on the results of a CT scan later in the week, but his wrist appears to still be healthy after his cast was removed less than a week ago. Things are really looking up for Freeman, as he now could return as soon as the first game following the All-Star break barring any unforeseen setbacks. The plan is for the stud slugger to return as a third baseman in order to keep Matt Adams (the current first baseman) in the lineup, which could boost his already high value should he amass enough starts at the hot corner to gain dual positional eligibility.

Carter is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Angels.

Carter has gone hitless over his last three games while striking out six times in 10 at-bats, so he'll take a seat against Angels right-hander Ricky Nolasco. Matt Holliday picks up a rare start at first base while catcher Gary Sanchez serves as the Yankees' designated hitter, opening up a nod behind the plate for Austin Romine.

Freeman (wrist) could play third base upon his return from the DL, MLB.com reports. "We can't rule out anything," manager Brian Snitker said Tuesday.

Freeman was spotted getting some work in at third base prior to Wednesday's game, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports, which further suggests this move for Freeman is a very real possibility. This is a direct result of Matt Adams' excellent play in place of Freeman -- the team wants to find a way to have both in the everyday lineup. Freeman, who last played third base in 2007 while in the Gulf Coast League, had his cast removed less than a week ago.

Few opposing hitters have terrorized the Rockies quite like Goldschmidt has throughout his career. After homering Tuesday, the first baseman carries a .326/.428/.571 line against Rockies pitching over 432 career plate appearances. With the Diamondbacks set to play two more games at Coors FIeld before kicking off a homestand, Goldschmidt may be worth paying up for in daily contests Wednesday and Thursday.

Rizzo went 1-for-3 with a leadoff home run and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Padres.

Rizzo set the tone for the game with a first inning blast off of San Diego starter Jhoulys Chacin. In seven games out of the leadoff spot, Rizzo is 12-for-28 with four home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs scored. The first baseman isn't a conventional No. 1 hitter, but as long as he and the team are having success, don't expect manager Joe Maddon to tinker with the order.

Abreu went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Twins.

Abreu's been a run-producing machine these past two weeks, knocking in 13 runners while scoring 13 himself. During that stretch, he's gone 20-for-48 (.417) to raise his batting average above .300 for the first time since the first week of the season.
