  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Swats sixth homer

Casas went 1-for-4 with a walk and solo home run in Friday's 8-1 win over the Pirates.

Casas belted a homer in the first inning, his fifth long ball in the last 10 games. The 24-year-old first baseman leads Boston with 10 RBI and is second with six home runs.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Belts fourth homer

Pasquantino went 1-for-3 with a home run and scored three times during Friday's win over the Orioles.

Pasquantino's fourth-inning shot put the Royals ahead 1-0, and he drew a walk in the sixth to help spark a five-run inning that would keep Kansas City in front for the remainder of the game. The 26-year-old first baseman is slashing an incredible .481/.559/1.111 with four homers and 11 RBI during his seven-game hitting streak.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Hits fifth home run

Naylor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run en route to a 10-2 win against the Athletics on Friday.

Naylor's eighth-inning blast hardly had any impact on the outcome of the game, but it pushed his hitting streak to seven games and represents his fourth long ball across his last nine contests. The 26-year-old first baseman is now slashing .319/.395/.594 across 69 plate appearances on the year.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Resting versus lefty

Wade isn't in the Giants' lineup Friday versus the Diamondbacks, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The lefty-hitting Wade will take a seat Friday as southpaw Jordan Montgomery prepares to make his first start of the season for Arizona. Wilmer Flores will take over at first base and bat second.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Back in lineup Friday

Cronenworth (calf) is starting at first base and hitting third in the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cronenworth left Monday's game against the Brewers after experiencing calf tightness. He sat out the Padres' last two games, and the team's day off Thursday has given the 30-year-old enough time to recover. Cronenworth is slashing .254/.333/.465 with three home runs and 14 RBI over 81 plate appearances to start the season.

  • Jared Walsh 1B | CHW

Rangers' Jared Walsh: Out against lefty

Walsh is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Walsh will sit for a third consecutive contest, as Atlanta will start left-hander Chris Sale on Friday. The righty-hitting Ezequiel Duran will start at first base and bat sixth in the lineup.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Out of Friday's lineup

Schanuel is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Schanuel went 4-for-7 over the previous two games, doubling his hit total from his first 14 contests of the season, but he will take a seat for Friday's series opener in Cincinnati. Miguel Sano will man first base while Brandon Drury (hamstring) returns to the lineup as the designated hitter.

  • Jake Bauers RF | MIL

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Goes on bereavement list

Bauers was placed on the bereavement list by the Brewers on Friday.

Bauers will be away, by rule, for at least the three-game weekend series in St. Louis and potentially as many as seven games. Rhys Hoskins will be at first base Friday for the Brewers.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: RBI double in win

Flores went 1-for-1 with a double and two RBI in a 5-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Flores entered in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and immediately smacked a two-run double, which accounted for only his third extra-base hit of the campaign. While he has been on the short side of the platoon with LaMonte Wade at first base, the Giants have found a way to get Flores' bat in the lineup situationally on a regular basis. The 32-year-old has yet to tally a home run in 2024, but given that his slugging percentage (.311) is woefully below his .439 career mark, his power could arrive in short order.

  • Joey Gallo LF | CHW

Nationals' Joey Gallo: Not in Friday's lineup

Gallo is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros.

Gallo started the previous 14 games and will take a seat after he posted a .170/.328/.447 slash line with three homers and a 43.1 percent strikeout rate during that stretch. Joey Meneses will start at first base versus Houston righty Justin Verlander.
