Encarnacion-Strand went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 11-7 win over Cleveland.

Encarnacion-Strand smacked a two-run home run as part of the Reds' three-run third inning, which helped the team survive an early onslaught by the Guardians. The rookie is making a case as the team's best hitter down the stretch. The home run was Encarnacion-Strand's sixth in the last eight games, during which he's slashing .367/.406/.967 with 12 RBI. For the season, he has 12 homers over 59 games.

France went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Astros.

France logged his third multi-hit effort in his last four games. More importantly, he hit his first homer since Aug. 15, a span of 36 games in which he batted a paltry .220 and slugged just .252. Despite his poor hitting lately, France has maintained a fairly steady spot in the Mariners' lineup. He's at a .251/.336/.365 slash line with 11 homers, 57 RBI, 77 runs scored, a stolen base and 32 doubles through a career-high 153 games this season.

Solano went 4-for-4 with one double and three runs scored in Tuesday's victory over the Athletics.

Solano broke out of his slump Tuesday, scoring thrice and reaching safely in all five plate appearances after entering the contest with one hit across his last eight games (24 at-bats). Through 129 games thsi season, Solano is slashing .286/.371/.401 with 41 runs scored, 38 RBI and a 22.3 percent strikeout rate.

Walker went 3-for-5 with a triple, a two-run homer, a solo shot, three additional RBI and an additional run scored in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

Walker played a featured role in Arizona's offensive bonanza Tuesday, launching a solo homer in the second and a two-run shot in the sixth while also legging out his second triple of 2023. The first baseman is up to 33 homers with five games left on the schedule, and he's just three long balls away from tying his career high. Through 153 games, Walker is slashing .265/.340/.510 while striking out at a career-best 19.3 percent clip.

Schanuel (knee) isn't in the Angels' lineup Tuesday against Texas, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Knee tightness caused Schanuel to be removed from Monday's game during the seventh inning, and the Angels will give him an extra day to heal Tuesday. Brandon Drury will shift to first base in Schanuel's absence, allowing Eduardo Escobar to serve as the Halos' designated hitter.

Flores (knee) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the Padres.

Flores made an early exit from Sunday's series finale against the Dodgers with right knee discomfort and needs at least one more day of rest and treatment. J.D. Davis is playing third base Tuesday and batting third. LaMonte Wade will cover first base and hit leadoff.

Rizzo (concussion) said Monday that he is feeling significantly better and expects to have a normal offseason, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Rizzo's 2023 season officially ended Sept. 12 when he was moved to the 60-day IL. He had been diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome in early August and has shown gradual improvement since then, though it wasn't enough for him to return during the current campaign. Nonetheless, Rizzo said Monday that he is feeling "a lot clearer and pretty strong," adding that he's continued to stay active during his time on the injured list. The veteran first baseman indicated that he may start his offseason training program earlier than usual due to his shortened campaign and stated that he expects to be a full-go for spring training next year.

Mountcastle (shoulder) took batting practice on the field Tuesday and is likely a couple days away from being reinstated from the 10-day injured list, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.

The 26-year-old will be eligible to be activated Wednesday, but the Orioles may give it an extra day or two before returning him to the active roster. Regardless, Mountcastle should be ready for game action before the end of the regular season Sunday.

Candelario (back) is continuing his progression through baseball activities Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Out since Sept. 12 due to a lower-back strain, Candelario was cleared to begin working out Friday and should be able to return to the Cubs' active roster at some point before the regular season comes to an end this Sunday. He could even be activated as early as Wednesday, per Montemurro. Miles Mastrobuoni has been receiving the majority of the playing time at third base in Candelario's absence, with Cody Bellinger largely playing first base.

Diaz (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz departed Sunday's matchup versus the Blue Jays with right hamstring tightness and will be out of the starting nine for at least one game. Tampa Bay has a scheduled day off Thursday, which could prompt the club to sit the 32-year-old again Wednesday in order to provide a couple extra days of rest.
