Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Returns from IL
Philadelphia reinstated Bohm (hamstring) off the 15-day injured list Sunday. He'll start at third base and bat fifth in the Phillies' series finale with the Dodgers.
Bohm missed just over the minimum 10 days while recovering from a mild hamstring strain. Though he's moved between first and third base when healthy this season, Bohm will likely see most of his time at the hot corner moving forward while Kody Clemens fills in at first base until Darick Hall (thumb) is ready to return from the 60-day IL. The Phillies optioned Drew Ellis to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for Bohm.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Marlins' Yuli Gurriel: Sitting Sunday
Gurriel is not in the starting lineup Sunday versus the White Sox.
Gurriel will take a seat for the second time in three days after he went 0-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored while striking out twice in Saturday's victory. Garrett Cooper will draw the start at first base and bat fifth in Sunday's rubber match with Chicago.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Out again Sunday
Mountcastle (illness) is not in the starting lineup versus the Royals on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Mountcastle will miss at least one more game -- or at least not start, as he could be available off the bench -- while dealing with an illness that has kept him out of the lineup over the weekend. Josh Lester is starting at first base and hitting eighth while Mountcastle recovers.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Provides lone run with solo shot
Vaughn went 1-for-3 with one homer, one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's loss to Miami.
Vaughn provided the White Sox with their lone run of the contest with a leadoff bomb in the bottom of the fourth inning, snapping an 0-for-14 skid at the plate spanning over his last five games. The home run was his eighth of the season and first since May 29 against the Angels. It was also his first game with an RBI this month, as the first baseman is now hitting just .136 in June.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
Astros' Jose Abreu: Homers in second straight game
Abreu went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Saturday's 6-4 victory versus Cleveland.
That's now two straight games with a homer for Abreu, who went deep just once over his first 61 contests this season. The veteran has also tallied three consecutive multi-hit performances, so there's reason to believe that he may be turning around what has been a mediocre season thus far. Abreu is still slashing just .223/.279/.293 overall, so he has a long way to go to avoid finishing with the worst campaign of his career.

Matt Mervis 1B | WAS
Cubs' Matt Mervis: Opens scoring Saturday
Mervis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Giants.
Mervis was in quite the rough patch over his last nine games, going just 1-for-26 with a 3:11 BB:K. He at least put an end to his power drought with a third-inning solo shot off Jakob Junis that ended up being all the offense the Cubs needed. Mervis has three homers over his first 24 big-league games, but he's struggled to a .173/.247/.309 slash line with 10 RBI and eight runs scored through 89 plate appearances. He is likely to remain in a strong-side platoon role while learning on the job against major-league pitching. Trey Mancini figures to play first base against most lefties.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Day off Saturday
Rizzo will sit Saturday against the Red Sox.
Rizzo missed the last three games of May while dealing with a neck issue. He's since returned to start the first seven games of June but went 1-for-27 at the plate, a slump which could indicate that he's not yet back to full health. DJ LeMahieu starts at first base Saturday.

Vinnie Pasquantino 1B | KC
Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Placed on injured list
Pasquantino landed on the injured list Saturday with what the Royals described as right shoulder instability.
Pasquantino left Friday's game against Baltimore with what was originally called right shoulder discomfort. His updated diagnosis remains somewhat vague, but he'll undergo an MRI on Monday, per Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star, at which point a clearer timeline for his return may emerge. Nick Pratto will likely spend more time at first base until Pasquantino returns, which would open up at-bats in left field for Edward Olivares, who was activated off the restricted list to take Pasquantino's spot on the roster.
-
Dominic Smith 1B | ATL
Nationals' Dominic Smith: Not starting Saturday
Smith will sit Saturday against Atlanta, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
Michael Chavis takes over at first base for Smith, who sits for the first time since late April. Smith probably wouldn't have anything close to an everyday role on many other teams, as he's homered just once while slashing .265/.347/.301. That's good for just an 84 wRC+, marking the third straight season he's been below 90 in that category.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Remains out
Mountcastle (illness) remains sidelined Saturday against the Royals, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
An illness kept Mountcastle out of the lineup Friday and will cost him at least one more start. Per Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com, however, Mountcastle at least has a chance to be available off the bench. Ryan O'Hearn will cover for him at first base Saturday.
