  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Swats third homer

Mountcastle went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 5-1 win over the Athletics.

Mountcastle put the Orioles ahead 2-1 in the first inning with his lone hit of the game, and it was all they needed to win. The first baseman has an extra-base hit in four of his last six games. For the season, he's up to three homers, nine RBI, seven runs scored, one stolen base and a .244/.289/.561 slash line through 10 contests.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Drives in six runs

Bohm went 3-for-5 with a home run, six RBI and two runs scored in Monday's win over Miami.

Bohm knocked a two-run single in the third inning followed by another RBI base hit in the fifth. He topped off his big day with a three-run blast in the sixth frame. The 26-year-old is slashing .351/.415/.649 with 11 RBI and five extra-base hits this season. Bohm totaled just three hits over his previous five games.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Returns to lineup

Cron (illness) will start at first base and bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Cron didn't play the previous two days because he was under the weather, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go Monday. He went 7-for-11 with three home runs, two doubles, two walks and seven RBI over the Rockies' first three games but fell into a 1-for-20 skid at the plate before missing time with the illness.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Summoned from Triple-A

The Red Sox recalled Dalbec from Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

He's taking the roster spot vacated by Adam Duvall (wrist). Dalbec has started games at first base, third base and shortstop this season at Worcester and could see playing time in the infield if the Red Sox want to use Enrique Hernandez in center field while Duvall is out. He probably won't play enough or hit well enough to be worthy of a fantasy roster spot, though.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Swats third homer

Cooper went 2-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Sunday's win over the Mets.

His fifth-inning blast helped send Carlos Carrasco to the showers, and it gave Cooper his third homer in nine games to begin the season. The 32-year-old hasn't been known as a significant power threat in his career -- he slugged only nine homers in 119 games last season, and his career high is 15 long balls set back in 2019 -- but with a regular spot in the heart of the Marlins' order, Cooper could be poised for a career-best campaign.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Nationals' Dominic Smith: On base three times Sunday

Smith went 2-for-3 with two walks and two RBI in Sunday's loss to the Rockies.

The first baseman is still looking for his first big-league homer since 2021, but otherwise Smith has had a solid start to his Nationals career. Through eight games, he'd batting .290 (9-for-31) with three runs, four RBI and a 4:5 BB:K.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Twins' Donovan Solano: Gets sixth straight start

Solano will start at first base and bat fifth in Monday's game against the White Sox.

Due to various regulars getting days off in addition to Joey Gallo (side) having now been sidelined for three straight games, Solano will stick in the lineup for the sixth consecutive contest. When the Twins are at full strength, Solano will likely fade into a short-side platoon role, but he looks like he could be in store for a quasi-everyday role in the short term. He'll take a four-game hitting streak into Monday's series opener.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Tallies two extra-base hits

Casas went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Sunday's 4-1 victory over Detroit.

Casas got a day off against a left-handed pitcher Saturday, but he was back in action during Sunday's series finale against Detroit. Although he hit eighth in the order, he logged two of the Tigers' three extra-base hits in the victory. Over his first nine games of the season, he's hit .185 with two home runs, two doubles, seven RBI and three runs.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Slated to join major-league club

Dalbec will join the Red Sox ahead of their upcoming series in Tampa Bay that begins Monday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

After missing out on Boston's Opening Day roster, Dalbec should be activated Monday, but an official move won't be made Sunday. However, the 27-year-old has defensive versatility and would provide depth if Adam Duvall (wrist) requires a trip to the injured list. Dalbec slashed .215/.283/.369 with 12 homers, 40 runs, 39 RBI and three steals over 117 games with the big-league club last year, and the right-handed hitter should have a chance to earn playing time in Tampa Bay since the Rays are slated to start three southpaws during the four-game series.

  • Padres' Brandon Dixon: Gets call to majors

The Padres recalled Dixon from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

He'll join the big-league roster as a replacement for outfielder David Dahl, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right quadriceps strain. Like Dahl, Dixon is capable of playing the corner outfield, but the 31-year-old also has prior experience at three infield spots (first base, third base and second base).
