  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

    Rays' Yandy Diaz: Three-RBI night

Diaz went 1-for-3 with a three-run double and two walks in a 7-3 win over the Royals on Friday.

Diaz came up big with the bases loaded in the fourth inning and cashed in three with a bases-clearing double off Brad Keller, who was bothered by drainage from his nose. Diaz is slashing an excellent .383/.479/.533 in July and continues to set the table for the Rays' offense as a reliable leadoff man.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Clubs 18th homer

Olson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 8-1 win over the Angels.

His seventh-inning blast off Shohei Ohtani broke open a scoreless tie and wound up being the game-winning hit. The All-Star break did nothing to cool down the first baseman -- Olson's gone yard five times as part of a seven-game hitting streak, boosting his slash line on the season to .255/.341/.495 with 18 homers and 62 RBI through 95 contests.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Mashes 21st homer

Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 9-5 loss to the Reds.

Goldschmidt ended a 17-game homer drought just before the All-Star break and also went yard during the Midsummer Classic. He kept up the power display Friday, delivering a two-run blast in the fifth inning, though the Cardinals' offense couldn't keep up in this contest. The first baseman has multiple hits in six of 18 games in July and owns a .331/.414/.596 slash line with 21 homers, 72 RBI, 65 runs scored and five stolen bases through 91 games overall.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Launches 12th homer

France went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Astros.

France extended his hitting streak to five games, and he's notched an extra-base hit in each of those contests. In that span, he's gone 9-for-24 (.375) with two homers and three doubles. The infielder has a .307/.376/.476 slash line with 12 long balls, 50 RBI, 36 runs scored and 18 doubles through 80 contests. He should continue to be a near-everyday presence in the Mariners' lineup.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Notches steal Friday

Gurriel went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 5-2 win over the Mariners.

Gurriel singled and stole second in the second inning, but that was the extent of his offense Friday. The 38-year-old has four stolen bases in as many attempts this year, putting him one shy of his career high in thefts. He's batting .276 (16-for-58) in July, lifting his season slash line to .235/.285/.384 with seven home runs, 26 RBI and 31 runs scored in 85 games.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Reds' Donovan Solano: Drives in three

Solano went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI on Friday against the Cardinals.

Solano did the majority of his damage with a two-run home run in the second inning -- his second long ball of the campaign. With Mike Moustakas back in action, Solano may find it difficult to earn regular playing time. However, he's hit pretty well when given the opportunity this season with a .285/.353/.434 slash line across 85 plate appearances.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

    Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Sitting Friday

Calhoun will sit Friday versus the Athletics.

Calhoun will get a breather Friday to open the second half of the season. Charlie Culberson will take over in left field and bat eighth against Oakland.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Not starting against lefty

Wade isn't starting Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Wade has started against just three left-handed pitchers this season and will take a seat with southpaw Tyler Anderson on the mound for the Dodgers. Brandon Belt is serving as the designated hitter while Darin Ruf enters the lineup at first base.

  • Nick Pratto 1B | TEX

Royals' Nick Pratto: Called up, starting Friday

Pratto was called up from Triple-A Omaha and will start Friday against the Rays, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

After being sent down to Triple-A on Sunday, Pratto will return to the big leagues ahead of the Royals' first series of the second half. The 23-year-old will replace Edward Olivares (quadriceps) on the active roster after Olivares was placed on the 10-day injured list. Pratto is starting at first base and batting seventh against Tampa Bay.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Returns to action in Worcester

Casas (ankle) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Joe McDonald of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports.

Casas hasn't played at the Triple-A level since May 17 due to a right ankle sprain, but he'll start at first base Friday before likely serving as the designated hitter Saturday. Over 36 games this year for Worcester, he's slashed .248/.359/.457 with six homers, 22 runs and 22 RBI.
