  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Slugs second homer

Bohm went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Thursday against the Rockies.

Bohm began his productive afternoon with an RBI groundout in the second inning. However, the highlight of his performance came two frames later, when he delivered a solo shot to record his second homer of the season. Bohm owns a modest three-game hitting streak, and he's driven in four and scored three runs in that span. Importantly, Bohm also appears to have a clear claim to the starting job at third base as he's now started nine consecutive matchups.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Reaches twice, scores Thursday

Rivas went 0-for-1 with two walks and a run scored in Thursday's 5-1 loss to Atlanta.

Rivas batted sixth and provided Chicago's lone run in this one. The 25-year-old is off to a great start with a .462 average and 1.332 OPS across 13 at-bats. Those numbers are certain to come down, but Rivas is at least making a case for more playing time. As a left-handed hitter, he could push his way into a platoon at first base with righty Frank Schwindel.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Expected to be available Friday

Guerrero (foot) is expected to be available for Friday's game against the Astros, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said Guerrero was set to pinch hit late in Thursday's win over the Red Sox, but he didn't end up appearing in the game. However, he received treatment Thursday after fouling a ball off his right foot Wednesday, so he's expected to be available following a one-game absence.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Reds' Donovan Solano: Shut down following injection

Solano (hamstring) received a PRP injection Tuesday and has been shut down from running for five to seven days, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The veteran infielder has been out all year after injuring his left hamstring in late March. While initial reports suggested he wouldn't required a long stay on the injured list, things evidently haven't gone as planned. He'll still have to ramp back up after he's allowed to resume running, so his season debut is likely at least still a few weeks away.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: X-rays negative

Guerrero underwent X-rays on his right foot Wednesday which were negative, but his foot is still sore enough that he won't be in the lineup for Thursday's game against Boston, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Guerrero fouled a ball off his foot Wednesday, and while he remained in the game, he evidently didn't escape entirely without injury. His issue does seem to be a minor one, as he could be available off the bench if he responds well to pregame treatment, but it will be Gosuke Katoh serving as the first baseman for now.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Could return Friday

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said he expects Mountcastle (neck) to return to the lineup Friday against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

A stiff neck is keeping Mountcastle out of the lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Yankees, but the 25-year-old is reportedly showing improvement after missing Wednesday's 5-2 loss due to the issue. The Orioles will presumably wait and see how Mountcastle is feeling early Friday before determining whether he'll re-enter the lineup for the series opener with Boston.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Not starting Thursday

Guerrero isn't starting Thursday against the Red Sox.

Guerrero fouled a ball off his right foot in Wednesday's loss to the Red Sox but remained in the game. It's not yet clear whether he's dealing with a foot issue Thursday or whether he'll be available off the bench. However, Gosuke Katoh will take over at first base and bat eighth.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Sitting out against lefty

Tellez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.

The lefty-hitting Tellez will retreat to the bench for the series finale with southpaw Jose Quintana taking the hill for Pittsburgh. Platoon mate Keston Hiura will step in for Tellez at first base.

  • Evan White 1B | LAA

Mariners' Evan White: Transferred to 60-day IL

White (groin) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

White has been on the injured list since the start of the year after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia in late March, and he'll be ineligible to return until at least early June. According to Divish, the 26-year-old is progressing in his recovery but hasn't been cleared to resume baseball activities.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Remains sidelined

Mountcastle (neck) remains on the bench Thursday against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Mountcastle was scratched Wednesday with a stiff neck and will sit for at least one more game. Cedric Mullins will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Trey Mancini starts at first base.
