  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Homer, steal in win

Semien went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Angels.

Semien ended a 19-game homer drought when he led off the bottom of the first inning with a long ball. In that span, he batted a poor .205 (16-for-78) with three doubles, five RBI, 10 runs scored and two steals. He's started to turn things around with at least one hit in five straight games. The second baseman now has a .238/.308/.387 slash line, 19 homers, 67 RBI, 88 runs scored and six steals over 141 contests this season. He hasn't missed the 20-homer mark in a full-length campaign since 2018, and he has three weeks left to reach that milestone in 2024.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Three hits, two steals in loss

Gimenez went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases in Saturday's loss to the Dodgers.

Gimenez singled and stole second in his first at-bat and added a leadoff knock in the seventh before swiping his second bag of the night. The second baseman would go on to reach three times in the contest, and he's now hit safely in six straight games to open the month. It marked his second two-steal effort this season and his seventh game with at least three hits. Gimenez is now slashing .320/.370/.640 in September with two homers, four RBI and three runs scored.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Sitting Sunday

Massey is absent from Sunday's lineup against the Twins.

Massey will begin Sunday's contest on the bench after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Kansas City's 4-2 win over Minnesota on Saturday. Tommy Pham will serve as the designated hitter while Maikel Garcia starts at second base against Twins right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | ARI

White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Absent from lineup

Lopez is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Boston.

Lopez will begin Sunday's game in the dugout after going 2-for-9 with one run scored across the first two games of the series. Jacob Amaya will start at shortstop and bat ninth against Red Sox right-hander Richard Fitts.

  • Will Wagner 2B | SD

Blue Jays' Will Wagner: Idle vs. lefty

Wagner is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

The lefty-hitting Wagner will begin Sunday's contest in the dugout with Atlanta sending southpaw Chris Sale to the mound. Leo Jimenez will start at second base and bat fifth.

  • Blue Jays' Spencer Horwitz: Not starting Sunday

Horwitz is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Hortwitz will sit for the series finale with Atlanta sending southpaw Chris Sale to the mound. Alejandro Kirk will serve as the designated hitter and bat fourth.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Absence continuing Sunday

Lowe (finger) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

The 30-year-old will sit for the third consecutive game due ligament inflammation in his little finger. Christopher Morel will receive the start at second base while Junior Caminero gets a turn at designated hitter in Lowe's absence.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Crosses plate three times Saturday

Altuve went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Saturday's 11-5 win over the Diamondbacks.

It was another strong showing from the leadoff spot for the likely future Hall of Famer. Altuve has caught fire as Houston pushes for another AL West title, racking up six multi-hit performances in his last 15 games while slashing .327/.403/.564 with three homers, two steals, six RBI and 13 runs. The 34-year-old second baseman is one long ball short of his third career 20-20 campaign, and his first since 2017.

  • Blue Jays' Spencer Horwitz: Homers twice, plates three in win

Horwitz went 4-for-5 with a double, two homers, three RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's win over Atlanta.

Horwitz was a problem for Atlanta all night, smacking a leadoff homer in the second to put Toronto on the board, along with a second leadoff shot in the fourth to kick off a three-run inning for the Blue Jays. The infielder didn't stop there, however, adding an RBI double and a single in the contest to give him his first four-hit performance of the campaign. Horwitz has now tallied multiple hits in three of his last six starts, batting .423 (11-for-26) with three homers, six RBI and six runs scored over that stretch. He's also hit safely in each of his last three starts.

  • Zack Gelof 2B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Up to 21 steals

Gelof went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Gelof extended his hitting streak to four games while also recording his fourth steal in the last 11 contests. Gelof has picked up the pace at the plate of late, hitting .269 over his last seven games and knocking four of his seven hits during that span for extra bases. Nevertheless, his contact issues persist, with Gelof sitting on a 32.9 percent strikeout rate over the 43 games he's played since the All-Star break.
