Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Swipes bag in loss
Mateo went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Yankees.
Mateo remains in a slump -- he's 0-for-10 over his last four games -- but he's picked up two steals over six contests since he returned from a concussion. With Jordan Westburg (hip) leaving Tuesday's game early, Mateo's playing time could rise in the short term if his teammate is forced to miss additional games. Mateo is at a .231/.280/.431 slash line with four home runs, 16 RBI, 22 runs scored and 12 steals across 48 contests this season.

Nick Loftin 1B | KC
Royals' Nick Loftin: Lifts first big-league homer
Loftin went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional RBI in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Athletics.
Loftin hit his first career homer off Hogan Harris in the second inning, tying the game at 2-2. While Loftin has seen steady run at second base, he entered Tuesday on an 0-for-14 skid that could jeopardize his playing time. He's slashing .253/.351/.304 with 12 RBI, 13 runs scored and no stolen bases over 95 plate appearances this season. Michael Massey (back) began a rehab assignment Tuesday, so Loftin's time in a starting role -- and potentially in the majors -- could come to a close when Massey is ready to return to the Royals.

Zack Gelof 2B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Fills box score Tuesday
Gelof went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, one stolen base and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.
Gelof took Alec Marsh deep in the fourth inning to provide the Athletics with enough offense to weather the Royals' comeback attempt. This was Gelof's third multi-hit effort in his last seven games, though the homer was his first since June 5. The second baseman is starting to put together better at-bats, but he's still at a .195/.250/.335 slash line with six homers, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 54 contests this season.

Nicky Lopez 3B | COL
White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Taking seat against LHP
Lopez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Houston.
Lopez will avoid a matchup with southpaw Framber Valdez on Tuesday. Instead, Danny Mendick will bat ninth and play second base.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Angels' Brandon Drury: Returns from injured list
The Angels activated Drury (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Drury was sidelined for nearly six weeks of action with a left hamstring strain but is ready to rejoin the Angels after playing in six rehab games. Most of Drury's starts with the Angels will probably come at second base, but first base, third base and designated hitter are options, as well.

Enmanuel Valdez 2B | PIT
Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: Getting day off versus lefty
Valdez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.
The lefty-hitting Valdez will get the night off while the Blue Jays bring southpaw Yusei Kikuchi to the bump. The freshly activated Romy Gonzalez (hamstring) will get the start at second base in place of Valdez.

Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Ready for rehab assignment
Massey (back) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Omaha.
On the shelf with a low back ligament sprain, Massey received an injection May 31 and appears to have responded favorably. He was cleared to resume baseball activities early last week and has checked out fine after steadily increasing the intensity of his hitting and running over the last several days. The Royals haven't determined how long Massey's rehab assignment will last, but he may only need two or three games with Omaha to get his timing back at the plate before potentially making his return from the 10-day injured list as soon as this weekend.

Jorge Polanco 2B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Plays defense in second rehab game
Polanco (hamstring) started at second base in High-A Everett's win over Eugene on Sunday and went 0-for-1 with two walks before being replaced defensively in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Polanco was able to take another step with his time on the field, even if it was relatively brief. The veteran has reached safely in each of his first two rehab games, and he's now poised to shift his assignment to Triple-A Tacoma when the Rainiers resume play Tuesday.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Belts fourth homer
Lowe went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Sunday against Atlanta.
Lowe collected two hits, including his fourth round-tripper of the season. It was the second time in three games and fourth time this month Lowe has collected two hits in a game. The veteran second baseman struggled initially after missing more than a month with an oblique injury, but he has turned things up a bit since the calendar shifted to June, batting .267 with three homers, 11 RBI, seven runs and a steal over 45 at-bats through 12 games this month.

Daniel Schneemann 2B | CLE
Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Belts first career homer
Schneemann went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Sunday's loss to Toronto.
Schneemann took Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios deep in the sixth inning to record his first big-league home run. The rookie third-baseman has more than held his own since making his MLB debut June 2, slashing .375/.483/.667 with one home run, five RBI and four runs scored across 29 plate appearances.
