  • Will Wilson SS | SEA

Guardians' Will Wilson: Returns to Triple-A

The Guardians optioned Wilson to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

Wilson's latest stint in the big leagues lasted one week, with the infielder appearing in two games and going 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run. He'll be replaced on the 28-man active roster by outfielder George Valera, who was called up from Triple-A.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Reaches three times in win

Torres went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Royals.

Torres ended August on a high note, going 6-for-13 with a walk, a run scored and two RBI during the three-game series in Kansas City. For the season, the infielder is batting .265 with a .767 OPS to go along with 14 home runs, 63 RBI and 69 runs scored. The RBI match last year's regular-season total he posted with the Yankees, and the 14 long balls are just one shy of his 2024 tally.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Swats game-winning homer

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Yankees.

The Chicago infielder gave his team a lead it didn't surrender with a 418-foot solo shot off New Yorker reliever Tim Hill in the eighth. The long ball caps a breakout power month for Sosa in August, as he hit .241 with eight homers, 20 RBI and 13 runs scored in 27 games. The 25-year-old should continue to occupy a key lineup spot thanks to his 18 homers, 61 RBI, 45 runs scored and .735 OPS through 457 total plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Gets on base four times in loss

Holliday went 1-for-2 with an RBI double, three walks, one stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 13-2 loss to the Giants.

Holliday prevented the Orioles from being shut out when he hit an RBI double in the ninth inning. He's gone 6-for-14 (.429) over his last four games while adding three extra-base hits and two steals in that span. The 21-year-old is up to 14 steals on 23 attempts while adding 15 home runs, 51 RBI, 62 runs scored, 19 doubles, three triples and a .246/.313/.384 slash line through 128 games this season.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Knocks grand slam

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's win over Washington.

Lowe ripped a grand slam during the Rays' six-run second inning. It was his 28th long ball of the year and fourth in his last eight games. He leads all MLB second basemen in home runs and RBI (71) this season. Lowe owns a .264/.319/.493 slash line through 113 games and is approaching his first 30-homer campaign since 2021.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Goes deep in loss

Schneemann went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Seattle.

The Guardians utility man started at second before eventually shifting to third and snapped a 19-game long-ball draught in this contest. Schneeman cracked a 408-foot, two-run homer off Mariners starter Bryce Miller in the third to tally his team's only runs of the game. Schneeman, who is in a strong-side platoon role, is now slashing .220/.301/.381 with 11 homers, eight steals, 41 runs scored and 34 RBI across 357 total plate appearances.

  • Mauricio Dubon 2B | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Exiting lineup Sunday

Dubon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

The versatile Dubon will hit the bench after starting 11 straight games across three different positions. His last two starts came in center field, where he could end up seeing the bulk of his playing time until Jake Meyers (calf) is ready to return from the injured list.

  • Royals' Jonathan India: Sitting in second straight

India is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

The Royals will hold India out of the lineup for the second day in a row while he's stuck in a 5-for-32 slump. Michael Massey will step in for India at the keystone.

  • David Hamilton SS | MIL

Red Sox's David Hamilton: On bench against righty

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Though Hamilton has posted a 1.053 OPS in six games since being called up from Triple-A Worcester on Aug. 21, the Red Sox aren't yet ready to give him consistent playing time. He'll be on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-handed starter (Mitch Keller), clearing the way for Romy Gonzalez to shift from first base to the keystone in Nathaniel Lowe's return from the paternity list.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: On bench for third straight

Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

The Twins have now left Julien out of the lineup for three consecutive contests, which follows a stretch of four straight starts in which he went 2-for-13 with a double and three walks. Julien has produced a poor .545 OPS since getting called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Aug. 1 and may play second fiddle to Kody Clemens at first base in September.
