  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Tallies fourth homer

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored Thursday against the Athletics.

Lowe took Chris Bassitt yard in the fifth inning for his fourth homer of the season. He has been cold for much of the season, as he's now hitting just .167/.293/.345 with 11 runs scored and 11 RBI across 99 plate appearances.

  • Danny Mendick 3B | CHW

White Sox's Danny Mendick: Called up for doubleheader

Mendick was recalled from the alternate training site to serve as the 27th man in Thursday's doubleheader against the Tigers.

Mendick was sent down by the White Sox on Sunday, but he'll return to the major-league club on a short-term basis for Thursday's twin bill. The 27-year-old appeared in eight games to begin the year and went 6-for-21 with two RBI, two runs and a 5:5 BB:K. He'll likely return to the team's alternate camp following the doubleheader.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Rips RBI double Wednesday

Torres went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-0 victory over Baltimore.

After starting the season by going exactly 1-for-4 in seven consecutive games, Torres' numbers have gotten no better, with his average now at .233 and Wednesday's RBI just his third of 2021. That said, Torres has recorded multiple hits in consecutive games and, much like his team, appears ready to turn the corner and put his early season struggles behind him. However, his power is still missing in action, as he hit just three homers last year and has yet to hit one in 2021 after launching 38 in 2019.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Clubs two-run homer

Polanco went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Wednesday's 10-2 win at Cleveland.

The 27-year-old received his first off day of the season Tuesday and rejoined the lineup Wednesday with his first homer of 2021. Polanco has a .193/.258/.265 slash line with three doubles, two stolen bases, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored through 22 games.

  • Sam Haggerty LF | TEX

Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Starting again Wednesday

Haggerty is starting at second base and batting sixth Wednesday in Houston. He has now started five of the last six games.

Dylan Moore is slumping, and meanwhile, Haggerty is hitting .429 with one home run, two steals and a 4:3 K:BB over his last six games (14 at-bats). It appears Seattle is going to play the hot hand at the keystone, and right now that's Haggerty, whose speed makes him noteworthy in deeper roto leagues.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Indians' Amed Rosario: Scores both runs in loss

Rosario went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored during Wednesday's 10-2 loss to Minnesota.

The 25-year-old delivered two extra-base hits and scored both of Cleveland's runs Wednesday, as the rest of the offense managed only three singles and one walk. Rosario is seeing most of his playing time in center field and has a .175/.257/.302 slash line with two home runs, two doubles four RBI and nine runs in 21 games this season.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Resting for first time in 2021

Andrus is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Vimael Machin checks in at shortstop for Andrus, who heads to the bench for the first time this season. Though he showed some improvement at the plate during the Athletics' recent 13-game winning streak, Andrus is still sitting on a career-worst .152/.207/.190 slash line through 87 plate appearances.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Takes seat versus lefty

Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

The Rays have been facing a slew of left-handed starters of late, but it hasn't routinely cost Lowe playing time. With southpaw Cole Irvin on the hill for Oakland on Wednesday, Lowe will be sitting for only the second time in the last week and a half. That said, Lowe's productivity has taken a hit due to the lefty-heavy schedule. Lowe has gone 4-for-34 while striking out in 27 percent of his plate appearances over his past eight games.

  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Indians' Andres Gimenez: Sits after six straight starts

Gimenez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

With southpaw J.A. Happ on the hill for Minnesota and a team off day coming Thursday, Cleveland manager Terry Francona determined that Wednesday was a good opportunity to give Gimenez a breather. The young shortstop had started each of the past six games, going 2-for-18 to drop his season average to .192.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Twins' Luis Arraez: Sitting against lefty

Arraez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Cleveland.

With southpaw Logan Allen on the bump for Cleveland, the lefty-hitting Arraez will take a seat in what amounts to his second day off of the season. Byron Buxton will assume leadoff duties in place of Arraez, who is slashing .284/.372/.351 with one home run, 10 runs and nine RBI across 86 plate appearances on the campaign.
