  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Moved down to eight spot

Stott will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Stott is slashing just .206/.317/.235 in his first 11 contests this season, so he'll be dropped from sixth to eighth in the Phillies' batting order. He's switching spots with Brandon Marsh, who has been elevated to sixth.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Idle against right-handed pitcher

Lux is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The lefty-hitting Lux will exit the starting nine for the fifth time this season, though Wednesday marks the first occasion that he's on the bench against a right-handed starting pitcher (Chris Paddack). Mookie Betts will shift over from shortstop to fill in at second base for Lux, who is slashing .179/.238/.205 through 42 plate appearances on the season after missing the entire 2023 season while recovering from a torn ACL and LCL in his right knee.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Looks healthy in return

India started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a walk and stolen base in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to Milwaukee.

India, who was scratched from Monday's game after taking a batted ball off his leg during pregame warmups, returned to the lineup. All signs indicate the scratch was a precautionary move by manager David Bell. India played the field, batted leadoff and recorded his second steal.

  • Nolan Gorman 2B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Adds another homer

Gorman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.

Gorman broke a scoreless tie with a 419-foot blast to center field off Zack Wheeler in the fourth. Gorman now leads the Cardinals early on with three homers and showed his power upside a year ago by hitting 27 home runs.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Sitting versus southpaw

Garcia is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Giants, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Garcia will get a breather as the Nationals square off with lefty Kyle Harrison. The switch-hitting Ildemaro Vargas will replace him at second base, batting seventh versus the Giants.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Receives Tuesday off

Marte is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Colorado.

Marte started the first 11 games of the season and has an .883 OPS with three doubles, three homers, seven RBI and 11 runs in 53 plate appearances, but he'll step out of the lineup Tuesday. Jace Peterson will take over at the keystone and bat sixth.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Back in lineup Tuesday

India (leg) will start at second base and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

India had to be scratched from Monday's lineup after being hit on the left leg by a ball during batting practice. He's fine, though, and will be in his usual leadoff spot as the Reds go up against right-hander Joe Ross.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: On base three times Monday

McNeil went 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored in Monday's win over Atlanta.

Getting the start in left field and batting eighth, McNeil kept the line moving and was driven home twice by leadoff hitter Brandon Nimmo. McNeil has reached base in five straight games, a modest achievement but a good sign for the 32-year-old after his disappointing 2023. Through nine contests to begin the season, he's batting just .143 (4-for-28), but that comes with a 4:2 BB:K.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Drives in three Monday

Albies went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and three RBI in Monday's loss to the Mets.

He brought home the first two runs of the game in the third inning with a double before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the eighth. It's already the third three-RBI performance of the season for Albies, who's batting .289 (11-for-38) through nine games with two homers, one steal, nine runs and 10 RBI.

  • Jared Triolo 3B | PIT

Pirates' Jared Triolo: Batting leadoff Tuesday

Triolo will start at second base and bat leadoff Tuesday versus the Tigers, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Triolo hadn't previously batted higher than sixth this season, but he's perched atop the batting order in this one against righty Casey Mize while Oneil Cruz gets a breather. The 26-year-old is hitting .275/.356/.375 in his first 10 games this season.
