Owen Miller 2B | CHC
Brewers' Owen Miller: Heads back to Nashville
The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Miller was moved off the 28-man active roster to clear room for third baseman/designated hitter Josh Donaldson, who was called up from Nashville after joining the Brewers on a minor-league deal less than two weeks earlier. The Brewers brought Miller back from Triple-A as one of their September call-ups, but he logged just four plate appearances in total during his latest stint with the big club.

Jake Alu LF | WAS
Nationals' Jake Alu: On bench, could lose playing time
Alu is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Alu will hit the bench after he had started each of the Nationals' last 14 games at second base or in left field, slashing .216/.273/.216 over that stretch. Given his lack of productivity, Alu could fade into more a utility role moving forward with September call-ups Luis Garcia and Travis Blankenhorn having seemingly emerged as the Nationals' preferred option at second base and in left field, respectively.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Rejoins starting nine
Marte (knee) will start at second base and bat leadoff in Monday's game against the Mets.
He'll return to the lineup after a one-game absence due to a sore right knee. Marte has produced hits in all but one of his eight starts thus far in September, slashing .333/.394/.600 with five extra-base hits, five RBI and five runs.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Homers and steals bag in return
India went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.
India sent a long ball over the wall in center in his first at-bat since July 29. He also surprised with a stolen base, which was his first since he had two June 3. The 26-year-old is now slashing .252/.337/.416 with 15 homers, 53 RBI, 69 runs, 13 steals and a 40:92 BB:K in 457 plate appearances this season and should hold a near everyday role as he tries to help the Reds fight for a playoff spot.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Homers in Sunday's win
Estrada went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a triple in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Rockies.
Estrada missed Friday's game with conjunctivitis, but he's been seeing the ball fine since he returned with two homers across his last two games. Prior to Saturday, he'd gone 20 games without a long ball. The second baseman is up to 12 homers, 20 stolen bases, 45 RBI, 56 runs scored and a .274/.319/.429 slash line over 101 contests this season.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Shows off wheels in win
Hoerner went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks.
Despite tallying only one hit, Hoerner had a productive game, as he swiped his 37th and 38th bases of the season. The infielder had 20 steals last year, but he's taken it to the next level in 2023. He's also been an efficient base stealer, as he's been caught only eight times in 66 attempts over the last two seasons.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Not in Sunday's lineup
Rodgers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Rodgers rejoined the lineup Friday after missing most of the week with an illness, and he's back on the bench Sunday for the second straight game. Alan Trejo will handle the keystone in the series finale at San Francisco.

Alejo Lopez 2B | SEA
Reds' Alejo Lopez: Returns to Triple-A
The Reds returned Lopez to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
The 27-year-old was temporarily added to Cincinnati's 26-man and 40-man rosters Friday when Stuart Fairchild (illness) landed on the COVID-19 injured list, and Lopez will return to the minors after going 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run in his lone appearance. Since Lopez is not on the 40-man roster, he's not a likely bet to receive another chance in the big leagues this season.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Could be available off bench
Marte (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs but could be available off the bench if needed, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Marte was removed from Saturday's contest with left knee soreness after being hit by a pitch, and he's considered day-to-day after X-rays came back negative. The 29-year-old will be held out of the starting nine for at least one game, with Jace Peterson handling the keystone Sunday.
-
Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Steps out of lineup
Garcia is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Andrew Golden of The Washington Postreports.
Garcia started the past two games after being recalled from Triple-A Rochester on Friday, and he'll head to the bench after going 1-for-7 with an RBI and a run. Michael Chavis will take over at the keystone and bat sixth.
