Hoerner is not in the starting lineup for Friday's contest with the Red Sox.

Hoerner will get a day off after he went 7-for-13 with a double, two RBI and two runs during a three-game series against the Reds. He currently owns an eight-game hit streak, raising his average from .271 to .310 over that stretch. Andrelton Simmons will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Friday's series opener.

Chavis isn't in the lineup Thursday against the Brewers.

Right-hander Adrian Houser is starting for Milwaukee on Thursday, and Chavis will be out of the lineup for the third time in the last four games. Josh VanMeter is starting at first base while Hoy Park takes over at the keystone.

Rodgers went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers.

Rodgers knocked in three of Colorado's four runs in the contest, recording an RBI double in the fourth inning, a run-scoring single in the sixth and a solo homer in the eighth. This was the infielder's third straight multi-hit game, and he went 7-for-11 with five RBI in the series against Los Angeles. Rodgers' homer Wednesday was his seventh of the season but his first since June 5.

Drury went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a loss to the Cubs on Wednesday.

Drury's ninth-inning solo shot came with the Reds far out of contention for a win, but it at least gave fantasy managers who roster him something to smile about. The long ball was his 16th of the campaign, tying the career-best mark he established in more than twice as many games in 2016. Drury's breakout 2022 campaign also includes a solid .279/.337/.541 slash line and 40 RBI over 267 plate appearances.

Urias went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Wednesday's 5-3 win against the Rays.

The 25-year-old launched a two-run shot during Tuesday's victory and went deep again during Wednesday's contest. Urias posted a .478 OPS across his first 19 games in June, but he's gone 6-for-14 with two home runs, a double, six RBI and three runs in his past four contests.

Gorman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins due to a sore left hand, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The lefty-hitting Gorman was on the bench for Tuesday's win while lefty Braxton Garrett was on the hill for Miami, but the hand injury explains why the rookie is out of the lineup Wednesday against a righty (Sandy Alcantara). According to Jones, Gorman initially picked up the injury in Monday's 9-0 loss, when he fouled a ball off the bottom of the hand. He was able to field grounders and take swings Wednesday, and with the benefit of a team off day Thursday, Gorman could be ready to play this weekend in Philadelphia. Brendan Donovan will replace Gorman at the keystone in Wednesday's series finale.

Rodgers went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI on Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Rodgers delivered an infield single to drive in a run in the second inning and followed that up with an RBI sacrifice fly four frames later. He has tallied at least one hit in eight of his last nine games, also recording six RBI and four runs scored in that span. Rodgers continues to steadily improve his line, as he's now hitting .259/.308/.412 across 276 plate appearances on the season.

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Gonzales (heel) has been participating in baseball activities while in a walking boot, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

Gonzales isn't expected to shed his boot for another 7-to-10 days, but it's encouraging that he's been able to swing and play catch while in the boot. It seems likely that the 23-year-old will still be sidelined several more weeks, but he's made encouraging progress so far.

Chavis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Chavis will take a seat for the Pirates' second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher, and he looks as though he may be in danger of moving into a short-side platoon role. The lefty-hitting Josh VanMeter will replace him at first base Wednesday, and the rehabbing Yoshi Tsutsugo (back) will be another candidate to poach playing time from Chavis against right-handed pitching once Tsutsugo comes off the injured list.

Marte went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Padres.

Marte once again served as the designated hitter as he works his way back from a hamstring injury. He was never tested on the basepaths, scoring easily from second base on Buddy Kennedy's double in the seventh inning and walking home from third base when Carson Kelly was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the eighth. This was the fifth straight game in which Marte served as the DH, and he's 4-for-15 with eight walks during that stretch.
