The 26-year-old has a .264/.341/.456 slash line with seven homers, 17 RBI, 29 runs scored and two stolen bases in 205 plate appearances. McNeil was initially expected to be sidelined until late June due to a significant hamstring strain that he sustained in mid-May, but he's trending in the right direction. The 29-year-old will likely require multiple rehab games following his lengthy absence, so it's not yet clear when he could return to the major-league club.

Brewers' Luis Urias: Slated for bulk of time at keystone

Manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Urias will serve as the primary second baseman while Kolten Wong recovers from his oblique strain, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Urias is starting at second base and batting leadoff Friday against Arizona, though Counsell noted that he won't necessarily hit atop the order going forward. Nonetheless, the infielder figures to get most of the reps at the keystone until Wong returns from the injured list, which figures to be sometime in late-June at the earliest.
